A quick question because i'm an idiot: why were the barricades created? I just realized i have 0 clues on what good would come of building a stationary pillow fort out of other ppl's furniture in the middle of a road?
I love your descriptionXD
augh okay Iām not good at explaining Combat Strategy Stuff, but I will try!Ā The barricades in the insurrection are never meant to be a single, stationary battle focus. IdeallyĀ Ā (from the POV of the revolutionaries), the first set of barricades are just a beginning. They arenāt meant to be fortresses, but Mostly Temporary cover and fortifications.Ā An ideal, successful Barricade-based Uprising goes something like this:
1- TO THE BARRICADES!!2- Government Forces attack your position, you harass each other a bit, you either fall back or advanceā3: TO THE NEW AND DIFFERENT BARRICADES!!!Ā 4: Repeat steps 1-3, as quickly as possible, as often as needed, until your forces capture strategically significant areas (armory, palace, etc) and drive out the Ruling Powers That Be5: HURRAH YOU REVOLUTIONāD
An insurrection/revolution that has enough popular support to do thisĀ Ā is very likely recruiting new members as it goes along, and getting recruits from the army/National Guard/whatever government forces as it goes, too.
