"—please, leave us.” the Queen requests, watches as the lady dips into a quick curtsy before taking her leave. her eyes follow her for a few steps before she fixes them on the man sitting down before her. “I guess this is a good chance to finally talk, do you not find?”

Amanda looked at the person who had approached her, a minor smirk on her lips as she looked to the ground for a second, before once again looking up. “Very interesting, I am sure of it. Now do tell, did anything of importance happen, while I spend some time away from the french court.”
“I would suppose you are not to interested in your own countries affairs, sister...” Arianne laughs, light hearten. her voice soft like silk. “I would rather you share with me how was your trip to Scotland...” she suggests, a smile forming on her lips. honestly, she had missed her sister; aside of their mother, cousins and grandparents, she is the only blood related family she has left.

His words find her a hundred percent agreeable, and she nods to emphasize that. “Have you spoken to Dufort about what you spoke of?” she inquiries, her eyes searching his, knowing that he is honest with her as she is with him and it is a relief to have someone who knows everything and they stand side by side.

"Fishing?” she laughs, but the prospect excites her. “When are we leaving?” she asks with a bright smile, a moment later.

Roslin is not a stranger to other women reacting to her manneriams in such a way, especially not in France. She has never been welcome here, even when she was wed to her French husband. Now she feels as if she is even less welcome, having no immediate ties to the court; no real reason to be visiting there. Thus, she has anticipated that the other women in court would eventually gang up on her in some sense, so she has come prepared for such a thing. Where many would have reacted to her in a foul way, she just lets a sigh escape her lips before she turns her back and walks towards the end of the table, her fingers dancing along the satin as she goes. Her mind is far too occupied with other things to concern herself with the follies of court. Once she reaches the end of the table, she places her hands firmly at the corners and tugs as hard as she can. Some of the women’s backsides are hit in the process, knocking them forwards as she walks along the space she has just created. She picks up a lemon cake, takes a bite, and sighs as she quickly walks to the end of the table again, using her hips to push it back towards the wall.
“I thank you for moving out of my way.”
Everything happens in a blur and for a moment it leaves the Queen startled. But she quickly realizes that the rude woman from before has pulled the table over, hurting her and her ladies in the process and now she tries to be swift about and make a grand exit. Of course, the Neapolitan cannot let her have that. When the foreign princess makes to quickly pass past her, however, she snaps out of it and with a shift movement pushes one of her ladies against her, causing her to knock against her arm and the lemon cake to make a dive for the floor. She is aware that they have become a spectacle by now, but she is not one to be walked over like that and let it pass. In contrary with the girl who tried to quickly make an exit, Arianne stands her ground, gesturing for her ladies to make room so that she has a view of the audacious, rude, female. “You are very welcome.” she tells her with sarcasm dripping from every word.

“I am afraid I am far too big at this time to dance,” Mary laughed, smoothing out the fabric of her skirts. “I’m not sure Francis or anyone would want to see that.”
The other Queen’s words make her laugh and she smiles at her, fondly. “Oh, I am sure everyone would enjoy their Queen in good spirits. You are radiance of health after all, and there is nothing more beautiful than an expecting mother...”

The day has been pleasant enough, surprisingly. News from back home are good and positive, which leaves the Queen in a merry mood, all smiles and laughter along with her ladies. She later returns to her chambers to get changed and attend the evening play. But, upon entering she is met with a sight that takes her a few long moments to process. Her step ceases, eyes fixed on the younger d’Angelis; her sister, crying, obviously in a bad state. Her fists clench and at once she rushes to her side, heart beating faster against her breast. “What has happened?” she inquires, one hand wiping away the tears, the other brushing strands of hair out of her face. It worries her greatly, for she has never before seen Amanda in such a state, nor did she think that her sister would ever so openly display such emotions to her.

She is quiet. Not due to any reason one might think, but because she is engulfed by her own thoughts. She finds solace only in solitude, drifting through life with little responsibility and an even smaller amount of dramatic encounters. Some might grow bored with such a life, but she finds contentment in silence, for it is a simpler path to take than the one others seem to push for. Besides, her silence protects her, shields her from enemies as well as any armor would. For she is a woman, and women must use a different sort of armor than men; metal only went so far. While men fought fair battles on the field, women strategically planned behind closed doors; and with planning comes silence. Thus, as she is walking along the buffet table, she makes no move to speak to the other royalty around her. It is not until she sees the lemon cakes nearby that she must open her mouth to speak.
“Must you stand right in the way of every- thing.”
The Queen stands and chats idly with her ladies, laughing and enjoying the good atmosphere of the dinning hall; which is a pleasant surprise, given the sour expression one often encounters by most nobles and royals. One of her ladies reaches to get a piece of lemon cake for her, and it is then when she hears a female speak. Her head turns, gaze slightly annoyed as the smile faints but does not vanish from her lips entirely. “Must you be so impatient?” she asks, an eyebrow arches. “There is enough food for everyone.” She then adds with a vague gesture, turning her back to the other woman, making no effort to make room; had she been a bit polite, she would have happily obliged to step aside a little, but not in this case, no.

She raised a hand to knock on the door before placing it under the tray with some wine and fruit. At first another servant had been told to do it but Danae had offered herself to do it. Mostly because it gave her a good reason to head over to the Queens chambers without no one actually question it, even though she had settled a bit with what she was doing - she didn’t enjoy it at all and hopefully it soon was over.
The knock on the door interrupts her reading, her eyes lift from the pages of the book to the door. “Come in,” she calls out softly, closing the book and setting it aside. it had been a long day and she had hoped for some peace and solitude, but when her eyes are meet by the figure of the handmaiden she had tasked with an important mission not too long ago, her posture changes. “you have new for me...” it is not a question, but rather an invitation for the girl to start talking.

isaac arched his eyebrows upon hearing what his beloved friend had to say; there was a matter that had to be done; “there is only one thing to do then; get rid of the issue; there is nothing else we will do with this peasant;”
Arianne agreed with a nod of her head, reached out to hold Isaac’s hand in her own. “yes. I know. I was about to propose that.” she tells him, a soft smile on her lips at the understanding they both have. he is probably her strongest alliance, not just a husband and a friend. “I will send word back home immediately.”

Amanda raised an eyebrow at her sister’s words, and removed her hand away from hers. Her sister bringing bad news wasn’t something new for her, and she rarely found that her sister was truly saddened by them. “Well, do share, Arianne.”
"Your god father...” she begins as tears spill from her eyes, despite her best efforts to keep them at bay, show no emotion. “He was a traitor...he plotted against our family...” her words are occasionally interrupted by a new wave of pain rushing out from within her; she has loved the man as a father, he was always kind, but this happened and has left her devastated. “he was executed...this morning...”

“I would, but I hurt my leg this evening. my physician would not approve.” the Queen responds in an upbeat tone, lively. “but what of you? why do you not dance, Queen Mary?”

Amanda had been called to her sister’s room and it confused her that she was. She had heard of no reason that would require for her presence. Walking inside her sister’s chamber, she watched as the doors was closed behind. Looking to her sister, she walked towards her and sat where she was told. “Why am I here?”
when Amanda seats by her, Arianne gives her a sad look, reaches out to hold her hand in hers. “I am afraid I have some very bad news to share with you, Amanda...” the Queen tells her, the sadness and hurt evident in her tone, but also a faint hint of anger laces through her words.

Her thoughts are in order. Every word she plans on saying is well calculated, sure to not leave any questions unanswered ---even though, as Queen she needs not to explain herself to her younger sister, but she does need to do that to her subjects, and Amanda is one of them, under her command and rule. she is seated, toying with her wedding ring when her lady announces her sister’s arrival and she gestures for her to take her leave, let them speak in privacy. her eyes lift up to meet the gaze of her sister’s, a bitter smile on her lips. “I have some news to share with you...” she begins, her tone filled with pain and a hint of anger. she pats the space across from her for the other woman to take.

isaac glancing around, he had nothing to do right now and this is something that happens in one of a million; as arianne touched him, he turned to look at her with a small smile formed on his lips; “of course;” he paused for a seconds or two; “let’s go somewhere private then;” he said and took hold of her hand politely and lightly; starting walking slowly as he was used to;
Arianne allows him to lead them away, as it was polite, but as soon as they were out of view she rushes their steps, walks a bit more hurriedly. “---something awful has happened...” she begins, her voice low and barely above a whisper in fear that any prying ears will hear them. they find themselves in an abandoned corridor and she ceases her step, comes to stand before him. pulling out a letter, she hands it to him. “one of those who took part at the conspiracy against my family is threatening to talk unless we are willing to yield to his demands...” she is more angry than she is panicking, and that transfers to the tone of voice she uses.

Her husband stands there, amidst French Lords, conversing with them ---or berating them, she cannot tell which one is it--- when she approaches him. her dainty hand reaches out to touch his elbow, catch his attention. “may I have a word with you?” she inquires, but it is more of her way to telling him that they need to talk, no questions. the Lords bow their heads and she acknowledges them with a soft smile, a light inclination of her own head. “now.” she adds in a lower tone, her gaze meeting his.
