Mending soothes my soul when life is loud🪡♻️
I have a few pairs of socks that need fixing... Maybe I'll try this method, but I'm worried it'll be a bit of a sensory issue for me.
Really missing how engaged and motivated I used to feel online. Everything now feels mindless and exhausting.
My mother suggested calling him N04H, readen Noah.
Since he's an orphan used for a lab experiment he had no name, but then he got rescued by the main characters and brought to ToeSock (another lab experiment) who took care of him from then on and gave him a name.
He's very scared of Richard.
My last 3 OCs have been more eyestrainy than they usually are, or have eyestrain elements. I usually work with soft but lively colors.

I like watching the steam from my tea ☕️🫖
People used to comment on web comics.
People used to comment on fanfiction.
People used to comment on fanart.
People used to comment on OCs.
I hate "content" culture.
I hate "consuming content" and scrolling immediately to the next thing.
People used to be excited about the art that other people created.
People used to want to share that excitement with creators.
I hate this future.
Once someone tagged art that I made with "woah" and I think about it at least once a week. Someone else said "oh neat" once. Someone else WROTE A WHOLE DAMN POEM IN THE COMMENTS. Anyways even just one word can change how someone sees their art. You don't even have to think about it too hard. You could put a keyboard smash and I'd probably cry from joy.
I'm also trying hard to interact more, I understand that it's hard to break away from opening your phone and being in Content Consumption Mode.
I left TikTok because of this. I hate that I’ve listened to so much music in the last year but couldn’t tell you most of the artists’s names. I’ve seen so much art and have the same problem. I miss engaging over consuming.
If some of you don’t understand why I’m so passionate about helping people understand the DIY and anti-consumerist themes of alternative fashion it’s because I just read an article about punk fashion that had a section dedicated to “shopping some of our punk favorites” that included a $53 pair of fishnet tights
I get my fishnets from the dollar store, I make jewelry out of safety pins and soda tablets cans, I buy “normal” looking clothing at thrift stores and cut it and sew it and wear it so it fits with my style. That’s what it’s about. When punks, goths, emos, scene kids, etc tell you that dressing this way should be cheap it’s because it IS. Don’t let big corporations tell you otherwise
i just think they should wear cute summer outfits and go on little summer dates together that’s all
Johnny, the kitchen sink has been clogged for days, some utensil probably fell down there
Just read this poem and wow.
Duolingo Alternatives by Language
Disclaimer: I haven't used or tested all of them. All resources have different strengths, e.g. Drops being designed for vocabulary. They often aren't full alternatives for Duolingo or formal classes. I just wanted to compile resources for all languages on Duolingo to make the switch easier, especially for the less popular languages.
Feel free to also check out my collection of free textbooks
If you want a more detailed resource list for any of these languages (or perhaps one not listed here) you can send me an ask and I can see what I can do.
Love this!!! I saw recently that Duolingo had started laying off a significant portion of their translators, supposedly in favour of AI, so might be time to find another learning app :')
Ball point pen drawing of a woman, using a reference photo from Pinterest.
I've been using more expensive art supplies a lot recently. While I love the effects I can get with them, I often miss the simplicity and contradictory complexity of just sketching and creating art with everyday stationery. I used to draw a lot with ball point pens. There's something so freeing about putting pen to paper and just seeing where the ink takes you. The inability to erase mistakes forces you to live with imperfection and embed it within your work.
One material I've been using a lot recently is my iPad for digital art. While I love creating characters this way and starting to animate, I feel like what I create with it seems to follow some kind of protocol or box-ticking exercise with my art work. On top of that, the ability to make lines perfect, to delete something entirely, brings out my perfectionism and kills my ability to create with imperfection. This is one of the reasons I want to start making more art with simple pens and pencils.
The other reason is possibly pointless as I don't really have a substantial following anywhere. When I was broke, I felt like I could never become an artist because I only ever saw artists on social media using expensive art supplies that I could never afford - and, realistically, still can't afford. Recently, someone I know was talking about how they thought that you cannot create art with cheaper supplies. They specifically used ball point pens as an example, claiming it was impossible to create any kind of art work with them. As I used ball point pens a lot when I was younger, I was slightly offended but I also never want anyone to feel like you need lots of money to make art. So, I drew this with a pen I found on my partner's desk, which they got for free at a free-to-attend event. My techniques definitely need some work but I'm loving going back to my roots with some of my drawings.
