I don’t care the comics show Steph as a clean girl with ruler-straight hair and flawless makeup. In my brain, she carries half a pound of mascara on her lashes at any time, Rose Tyler style. She does fancy eyeliner in fun colours. Her hair is waist length and curly and naturally buttery yellow. It has faded streaks of various colours she dyed in her bathroom at 5 am after patrol before class. Her hair has four modes: frizzy disaster, windswept curls, 30s movie star (Huntress/Spoiler: Blunt Trauma) and perfect crisp corkscrews. Sometimes she wears it half up-half down with funky hair ties and gives every lesbian in a five mile radius a heart attack, like so:

The moment she leaves Gotham, her freckles come out full force - on her face, shoulders, arms, everywhere - and she tans easily. She discovered this when she was in Africa with Leslie. While she was there, she fell head over heels in love with the whole continent and has since travelled there multiple times, visiting at least twenty countries, getting used to different climates and going on roadtrips. When she needs a break from the bats, she talks Kara into giving her a lift to someplace she hasn’t been yet and spends the week in cheap motels.

Because she’s blonde, she has to pencil her eyebrows in. Her jawline could kill anyone attracted to women, but she has chipmunk cheeks and a bit of a double chin when she tilts her head down.

She has chronic eye bags she covers up with cheap concealer that's just a shade too light. Her lipgloss costs 3$ and is called Strawberry Shine.

Most of her clothes are some shade of purple but she has a lot of other colours as well - just very few dark ones. All of them are thrifted or were on sale. Her favourite shoes are cute ankle boots with little heels, and boy can she run in them. They were her mother's but she begged them off Crystal when she was fifteen and they were still too big. Steph likes big colourful dangly earrings and seems to have a new pair every day - sometimes she makes them herself. You can tell they're homemade, but they're always really cool. The clothes she sews herself are spectacular. She has a machine that’s more sticker than plastic at this point and making stuff is her favourite pastime.

Her phone is crap and the screen is a spiderweb of cracks, but it can run ao3 (lesbian fanfiction) and pirating platforms (she’ll watch anything with good drama) and that’s enough for her. She loves cute phone cases and always has one with glitter. Sometimes she likes to have a clear one and keeps photos and pressed wildflowers in it. She listens to Chappel Roan on sticker-covered headphones.

She has stretch marks from her pregnancy on her stomach and stretch marks on her legs from rapidly gaining weight when puberty kicked in. When she’s not flexing, she has a bit of a belly. Her abs, thigh and arm muscles are crazy - she works out with Jason and they cheer each other on. They also listen to white girl pop in the gym because it has good beats. (And they just like it but will never admit it.)

She might not be the best fighter, but she’s still really good even by hero standards AND she can fight in heels.

She is the batfamily member with the most swag. And the best, most underestimated detective.
