Here it is! Finally scanned the full Hi-Fi RUSH artbook.
Access Google Drive with a Google account (for personal use) or Google Workspace account (for business use).
Pages are out of order, sorry about that. That's apple for ya...
You think you're so radical, I think you ought to stop
Spider Chai :3
his ass is not listening
Yay!! a Chai-related drawing for tonight and I’m gonna lose my sanity.
i want to buy more vinyls
a vision was bestowed upon me and i could not let myself rest until it came to fruition
haven’t drawn her in a hot minute
Since we’re having Hi-Fi Rush OC/Self-insert discussions in the tag, I’m thinking about character music (or specifically one from playlists). I usually try to make a distinction between what songs a character would listen to and what songs describe the character’s personality/story.
With that in mind, I’m thinking about how others could perhaps share the songs they use for their HFR OCs/Self-inserts (if they wants, of course). Even one tune would suffice, in my opinion.
So uhhhhh very few pages of the Hi-Fi Rush artbook have been revealed (a couple of people have either flicked through the book or showed a page or two) and that includes Kale's page.
I thought drawing him wearing one of those concept fits (or at least how I interpreted it) would be neat ^^
I'll put the full page that's been shared in the Read More section if you guys are curious :D
i miss hifi rush ohh
His jarona wormed his way into my heart <3
Very serious art-ing
Okay, so. We know what Chai's handwriting looks like, canonically, thanks to his Project Armstrong paperwork:
Very painstakingly-formed letters, lots of goofy dramatic flourishes, but still distinctly wobbly, with inconsistent angles on the vertical strokes. (It definitely supports the fandom theory that he had to re-learn to write with his left hand, a bit awkwardly, after he lost the use of his dominant right arm.)
And we have lots of samples of Peppermint's handwriting, from the journals scattered around the hideout and the note she left for Kale:
Simple, straightforward block printing. Pretty easy to read, though it goes a bit chickenscratch when she's taking notes in a hurry.
But I've spent way too much time looking at the assets for the hideout, and I find it extremely funny that at least one of the equations in her notebooks is written in what looks like Chai's handwriting. Check it out:
Look at that "t", especially. That's...totally Chai's handwriting??
I know the real-life explanation is probably that it's random scribbles on a minor background prop, and Tango didn't bother to keep close track of which asset artist was writing what, but. It still amuses me to imagine Chai casually adding his own calculations to Peppermint's notes, like:
"Six plus six equals twelve, Peppermint. I can do the math, I'm not dumb..."
(Grabs her mission report book, scribbles down a random calculus equation from memory, solves it, and hands it back to her.)
"See?"
(Belatedly notices that everybody in the hideout is struck silent and staring at him in disbelief.)
"........ What? Like it's hard?"
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Korsica My Beloved ❤️
I recently realized that this month marks 3 years since I first tried Hi-Fi Rush, which has become my all-time favorite game and, through it, met her.
So, here is a little drawing to commemorate that, and the fact that this woman simply won't leave my mind, let alone my heart ^v^
no new personal art lately ( the grind has me in a chokehold ) have some attempts of me trying desperately to stylize kale vandelay
