Damian, squished between Dick and Stephanie so he won't run away: -tt- That's stupid.

Dick, rolling his eyes: Come on, Damian. It's fantasy! You gotta make believe.

Stephanie: Yeah! 'Sides, you're going to tell me your grandpa showers in green Gatorade to keep young, but ghosts are too unbelievable?

Damian, deciding to ignore Steph completely: I have no issues understanding the premise of the story, nor the fantastic elements of it. I just think that kid is vastly overreacting.

Stephanie: How the hell is he overreacting?? He just got jumped by a ghost!!

Dick: He's just a little kid, Damian. He's scared.

Stephanie: Yeah. And these are ghosts were talking about. Anyone would be a bit startled if they saw a ghost.

Damian, brows furrowing: I see ghosts all the time and you don't see me make a fuss about it.

Dick: Yes, Damian, but you aren't–

*Both whipping around to look at Damian*

Damian:

Damian: Wh–

Both: YOU SEE FUCKING WHAT??!!

[Narrator voice: For the rest of the movie Damian was too engrossed in pointing out the "inaccuracies" of the ghosts, and totally missed the foreshadowing of Bruce Willis being a ghost too.

The plot twist took him completely by surprise.

Dick and Stephanie were too stunned by earlier events to high–five.

It was a movie night with lots of 'Plot twists' indeed...]

It's so much more interesting to hc that Damian struggled with sparring/training in the initial days of being Robin, not because of the lethality of his previous training or whatever, but because he follows his training a little too rigidly.

Like in canon, Talia only really fights against other warriors or people who've received training similar to hers, meaning that there are restrictions to the moves they make. But the Batkids are trained in both traditional combat and to improvise, because the rogues of Gotham aren't fighters. They're just scrappy and opportunistic.

This would also explain why Talia sent him to Bruce to continue learning. He's already mastered traditional combat; Gotham is supposed to teach him what to do if his foundation is taken away.

And it also makes sense that he struggles so hard against Dick the first time they spar. Dick isn't fighting him the way a warrior would, he's being about quippy and unpredictable as a typical Gotham villain.

I think it'd be funny if the identity reveal was super anticlimactic. Clark has an interview scheduled with Bruce Wayne about some new project or initiative the company is doing and he walks into Bruce's office and sits down and through a combination of sounds/smells/matching injuries/whatever just immediately recognizes him as Batman and is so surprised he can't contain his reaction and he's just like "Batman...?"

And Bruce loses the Brucie Wayne posture immediately, rolls his eyes and just says, unsurprised and a bit condescending, "Superman."

And then they just sit there in silence, staring at each other, Clark very confused and Bruce clearly annoyed at how quickly Superman recognized him. And when it becomes clear Bruce isn't going to say anything further, Clark looks down at his notes where he has some questions written down and, without knowing what else to do, just awkwardly starts with the first question.

The following interview is one of the strangest he's ever done. Bruce gives some very typical Brucie Wayne answers but all completely deadpan, hardly any inflection. He's also clearly grumpy the entire time. Aside from Bruce not acting like Brucie Wayne, there is no further mention or acknowledgement of their superhero identities. Clark goes back to Metropolis in a daze and still isn't convinced that the whole thing wasn't a fever dream.

there was a golden age superman comic where someone called a hit out on clark kent, and so a sniper tried to shoot him while he was out having lunch with lois

except he’s fucking superman so the bullets just fell off his chest into his lunch and clark just had to pretend nothing happened and hope lois wouldn’t notice that someone just fucking shot him

the hitman thinks maybe he just missed and gets ready to shoot him again, but then he’s watching through the scope as clark starts to eat the fucking bullets to hide the fucking evidence, acting like everything is totally normal as he noshes down on lead

dude just packs his shit up and leaves town because reporters in this city eat bullets for lunch and he’s not fucking with that no way no how
