Whenever I see aromantic characters, the character is asexual also. Do you know of any books with characters who are aromantic but not also ace?
Hey! I’ve noticed this as well. I’ve done some research, and while I don’t believe there are any YA books where the MC is aromantic but not asexual out now, I do know that Laura Pohl’s upcoming debut, THE LAST 8, has a bi/aro MC! It releases on March 1st, so you can preorder it now. There does seem to be a lot more options in adult books, so if you want, I recommend checking out the Aro and Ace Database.
I hope this helps!
@aroworlds has a great selection of aro literature! And while most are simply available online they do exist! A lot of the aromantic community writers self publish online and you can find authors and links to their original works HERE
There are books with alloaro characters!
I filtered through the lovely database Claudie Arsenault put together and found these. All of them are aro but not ace, and have the words to represent their identities used in the actual text.
A Murder’s Hunt by Danica Taylor
The Representative by Ripley Santo
The Trouble by Daria Defore
Baker Thief by Claudie Arseneault
I’ve only read Baker Thief and I really liked it!
