Tonight I cried because my group of friends sent in the group chat that they will get me a girlfriend. I don’t want a partner, I don’t need a romantic relationship. I know it’s with good intentions because they still struggle to understand what being AroAce means, specially since I’ve mentioned girls are pretty before and aesthetically I prefer them rather than men and my friends ARE trying even if it’s just by listening to me but… I can’t help but feel sad and misunderstood right now. I told them I didn’t want a romantic relationship and didn’t need a girlfriend, and they went silent. UGH 😭

actually hey btw, reminder that aromantic men and asexual men, like,,,, exist? and that just bc theyre men doesnt make their lack of romantic and/or sexual feelings "shallow" or "fake." i promise that men aren't always trying to trick you or lie to you or whatever, and denying aro/ace men's existence and validity only continues to hurt the entirety of the queer community.
