Valentine's Love <3 Emelie Mottet
One of our best-sellers, and super cool artist, Emelie Mottet, shares some of her thoughts and insight into creating art.
What kind of technique do you usually work with?
I work with pen and paper when I do all my sketches, but my finished work is often drawn in the computer. Sometimes I paint or draw with acrylic markers and sometimes I build stuff. Usually my techniques vary depending on the project and what I feel like doing.
What do you get inspired by?
Work that I like inspires me, too see people do things that are beautiful, fun or clever. And also projects and art that have purpose.
How did you come up with the idea for your Six Pack series?
With my six-pack series, it was basically a sketch that I though would be fun to make as a nice print. The first version was Riso-printed and limited to one color combination, but with the larger edition I played around with more colors.

Do you have a message you want to bring with your art?
I think some of my work communicates more clearly certain ideas, for instance many of my recent work deal with norms and gender in relation to the body. But parallel to that I also make a lot of strange and comical drawings that are more for fun.
Thank you for the time, Emelie!
