@arrowaddict2
You're a 19 year old kid.
You are critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam .
Its November 14, 1965 . LZ (landing zone) X-ray.
Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MedEvac helicopters to stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.
Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.
As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter.
You look up to see a Huey coming in. But.. It doesn't seem real because no MedEvac markings are on it.
Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you.
He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's
flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.
Even after the MedEvacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety. And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!
Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.
He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain Ed Freeman, United States Army, died at the age of 81, in Boise, Idaho.
I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing,Medal of Honor Winner Captain Ed Freeman.
Now... YOU pass this along.
Honor this real hero.
Died August 20,2008
Gettin after it!
Big respect!
Wow!!! That’s power.
Total respect

A “forgotten group”, combat injured female vets. We served, bled and gave along side of our brothers, but are often forgotten by everyone. We’re still here!
Here is an interesting fact for my American friends: During the 3-½ years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, “The People of the U.S.A.” produced the following:
22 aircraft carriers,
8 battleships,
48 cruisers,
349 destroyers,
420 destroyer escorts,
203 submarines,
34 million tons of merchant ships,
100,000 fighter aircraft,
98,000 bombers,
24,000 transport aircraft,
58,000 training aircraft,
93,000 tanks,
257,000 artillery pieces,
105,000 mortars,
3,000,000 machine guns, and
2,500,000 military trucks.
We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb, and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.
It’s worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama Administration couldn’t even build a web site that worked.
It’s past time for America to get back to work.
Just gonna leave this here
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO US?!
Sadly sadly
Bush pilots are bad asses
For those of you serious about buying USA made products
Good to know. Tumblr is blocking the ability to repost some very important conservative post this morning. See my likes today, and forgive the naked ladies that are also in there.
If you don’t know at least three wild stories your parents got up to in their younger years, ideally involving felonies or risks of grievous bodily harm; do you actually know your parents?
Note, younger years doesn’t need to mean “before they had you” just “before they became normal/your parents in a real sense.”
What they got up to AFTER they had you is wholly it’s own thing.
As a kid my dad sat on his roof and threw flaming paper airplanes until the fire department showed up and told him to stop.
When my mom was like 13ish there was a guy on her school bus who would tease and be a jerk to this little girl (I think she had Down syndrome but I can’t remember exactly but I know she had some learning disabilities) and one day my mom got sick of it and pulled him off the bus and beat the absolute crap out of him. Idk what if any trouble she got in but that guy left that little girl alone and never bothered her again.
To piss of the neighbors, my dad and his little brother used to jump from the second story window, aka their bedroom, into the next door neighbors pick up truck bed.
My dad also got pissed at his brother once and shot his brother in the ass with a dart.
My dad was a bit of a hellion.
Many stories that can only be told in person, and many stories that can only be shared among family.
Trust me @unrepentantwarriorbaby
You don’t want to know.
My kids ask me all the time what kind of crap I pulled. There is now way in hell that I will ever tell them . I just don't want to put ideas in their heads.
This…100% this!
