Could you write about 33 with cardia and san?
Hi! Thank you so much for the ask! I really hope what I came up with! It’s a bit longer than my usual ones!
Everything had come to a screeching halt for the whole group, it was so strange. We were back in the mansion for a while with everybody before they had left to complete their own objectives and it didn’t feel right. Nobody was planning the next move, nobody was plotting anything. Except Lupin of course, he is a thief after all.
Saint-Germain has been very calm lately as well, those sad smiles were no longer a thing.
“Living a human life, I finally am able to relax.”
He told me that after the first week or so of his mortality. I guess it really must be calming to not be fearful of your next mission and not having to worry about waiting to watch the ones you love die. He has nightmares still from all the trauma he’s been through. I think it’s cute that he comes to my bedchambers every time one occurs, seeking my comfort.
Now, we’re on our way back after a long time of traveling to find a cure for my poison.
On our way home is when I receive a letter from home, from Victor. He knew all of the places that we would be stopping at and must have had one mailed here in hopes we’ll get it.
Saint is out in town collecting some fancy souvenirs from here in Marseilles. This is one hell of a place, I don’t blame him this time for spending frivolous amounts of money on decorations for our home.
I don’t feel like waiting for him to return to the place we had rented to read the letter we had received.
I truly hope this is to reach you quickly. I also hope that you are safe and well. Travel like yours is so dangerous. I truly with you would just listen to me when I tell you things like that. If I had lost you, lord, I would not even know what to do with myself.
It seems that I’ve started rambling, sorry. My main point is that I have incredibly important news to share with you. It’s so urgent that I couldn’t possibly wait for you to return.
Cardia, I’ve created a cure for your poison.
Please come home quickly and safely.
I cry out in shock at the news. The date at the top is from nearly a week and a half ago.
I can’t believe it, I simply cannot believe what I just read. Victor has found the cure before us. I can’t wait a single moment to inform Saint-Germain, we must head back immediately.
I pull on my shoes and dash out of our room. I know that it’s useless to try to find him, he could be anywhere, but I highly doubt he would go far.
As if by Fate, the moment I step out of the hotel building, I nearly run directly into Saint. I stumble in attempt to stop before I do crash into him. Saint-Germain beams as he places a sturdy hand to my shoulder in attempt to steady me.
His gentle laughter brings a smile to my face. “Saint-Germain!”
“Hello, my love. Where were you off to in such a rush?” He asks.
“I was-... Well, I was going to find you.” I blush at how dumb I sound.
“Oh!” He chuckles again. “And why is that?” He asks, beginning to walk, sliding an arm around my waist and pulling me along with him.
“Saint, we have to go home immediately!” I gasp, almost just remembering the letter.
“What?” He turns to me with an urgency in his eyes that is almost unnerving. “What happened? Are you alright?”
“Better than alright!” I take the letter out of the pocket I’d tucked it into, handing it to the man beside me.
“Huh-? What’s this?” He hums and takes the paper from my hands, stopping in his tracks to read it.
“Read here.” I lean over his shoulder and touch my gloved finger to the line of most importance.
His lips move as he reads and then his jaw drops.
“C-Cure?” He stutters and meets my eyes. The letter slips from his hands. He’s stunned.
Suddenly, he grabs me and yanks me into his chest. I look up at him, shocked and he swoops I’m to kiss me. I’m just fast enough to place my hand between our faces.
His lips connect with my covered palm. “What do you think you’re doing!? I’m not cured yet!” I gasp, pushing him back from me.
“I’m sorry, I just can't help myself.” He’s smiling so wide it looks like it’ll just fall right off his face.
“Well, don’t just stand there! The faster we leave, the faster my poison will be gone!” I beam and don’t have the chance to pull away this time before he presses a fast kiss to my mouth. “Saint-Germain!” I scold.
He gives me a mischievous smirk. “What? Did I do something wrong?” He hums and starts off down the hallway toward the stairs.
I scowl at him, watching him as he waltzes off down the hall in his elegantly manor. Quickly, I jog to catch up with him.
Once we reach the room, the pair of us pack our belongings. Thankfully, Saint has arranged for any and all of the wonderful things we’ve bought in all of the places we’ve visited, to be shipped to the mansion. Meaning we get to travel light and hurry home.
It takes a week to get back home. Both Saint and I have been out of our minds with excitement.
The moment we reached London we made a beeline for Victor’s clinic in the poor end of the city. I hadn’t even thought to send him a letter back yet.
That’s why it’s no surprise that he looks so utterly shaken at the sight of both Saint-Germain and I hunched over and panting in the waiting room of his office.
“Wha-What are you doing here?” He stammers in shock.
“We-... We got… Your letter.” I cough out, leaning on the counter, Saint nods along with my statement.
“Oh! Thank god!” He gasps, grabbing my wrist quickly and pulling me after him into his actual office. Saint-Germain stumbles along behind.
Victor sits us me down on an examination table and Saint sits in a chair close by, wringing his hands nervously.
“Okay, this is going to be simple and I don’t know how long it will take for the solution to kick in, if it does at all, but from my research, it should work nearly immediately,” Victor explains as he takes a test-tube off of the counter behind him.
He holds it out to me. “You just have to drink it.” He says, a nervous smile on his face. The liquid inside is blue and glows kind of.
I take it and pull the cork out of the top. I gently bring it to my lips, careful not to touch the glass to my skin and drink the contents. “Oh…” I say after swallowing it. “It’s sweet.”
“Hm… I didn’t expect it to taste good?” Victor hums quietly. “How do you feel?”
“I don’t know… Not really any different.” I shrug.
“Well, let's find out if it worked.” Saint-Germain announces, standing abruptly.
I open my mouth to ask how, but before I can, I have lips on mine. A panic runs through me and I press my hands to his chest to push him away, yet, I don’t smell burning flesh. I don’t feel melting skin. There’s no smoke.
I relax and grip his shirt, pulling him closer, he lets me. My non-existent heart is pounding so hard it hurts.
We kiss for so long that my lungs burn, begging for air. Saint-Germain is the one to pull away first. I look over to find Victor standing off to the side, looking incredibly awkward with red cheeks as he tries to keep his eyes focused elsewhere.
“Sorry, Victor.” I sheepishly smile at him and he just gives me a nod and an awkward grin in return.
Saint-Germain cups my face in his hands and kisses me again, softer this time and it’s quicker, over before I’m ready.
Gently, my gloves are removed and he placed my palms to his cheeks. I nearly gasp at the feeling. “You’re so warm.” I whisper. I love my hands to his clothing, it’s soft and thin.
I receive a kiss on the temple and I nearly start crying. His mouth is so soft and round. These are feelings I never could have ever imagined.
“Don’t cry.” He whispers with such emotion that it pushes me to the point where I can’t help it. I can feel several tears roll down my cheeks.
“I can’t help it.” I murmur, gripping his hand in mine. He wipes the tears away from my cheeks.
“Oh dear…” He speaks quietly, moving closer and pressing our cheeks together. “I love you, Cardia. I never want to see you cry.” His breath caresses my face.
“Saint-Germain… I finally feel alive.” My voice wavers and I press my face into the crook of his neck.
“I think it’s safe to say that I feel the same.” He breathes kindly.
Victor clears his throat. “Um, I’m sorry to interrupt this beautiful moment, but I have an appointment in five minutes.” He nervously wrings his hands.
“Oh! I’m sorry, Victor,” I sniffle and rub my eyes as Saint pulls away from me. I hop off the table and wrap my arms around Victor tightly. “Thank you. You’ve saved me. Thank you.” I mumble into his ear, gripping him in a bone-crushing hug.
“It was nothing,” He laughs. “But if you don’t let go I think I’ll be crushed to death.”
“Sorry.” I smile as I pull away and wipe my eyes again.
Saint-Germain and myself both thank Victor several more times before we leave. Saint promises me that he has somewhere beautiful that he wants to bring me before we return to the mansion.
He truly doesn’t disappoint when he takes me to the woods where we had looked at the stars together. “Are you going to kidnap me again?” I joke quietly.
He flinches a bit at the question. “I’ll never do that, I’m still so sorry for that,” He says, lacing our bare fingers. “I just have this beautiful spot so want to bring you to.”
He leads me down the hill we were on to a small patch of grass that is sat amongst many flowers and overlooks a lake. “I come here sometimes to think. I came here most days when I had you in that mansion. I was trying to decide what was right and what was wrong…” he mumbles and sits in the long grass, pulling at my hand to join him.
I do and I immediately touch the grass, gasping at the strange feeling. “Wow…” I murmur.
“Do you like this place?” He asks, his eyes locked firmly on me as I touch anything within my reach.
“I love it,” I say. “I love this, I love you.” I look up into his sky-blue eyes. He looks so kind. There’s a strange flicker of something in his eyes though.
“Good, I’m glad…” He coos. “I came here at night most of the time. It was always so much more beautiful, the moon and stars reflected in the water…” Saint-Germain keeps his eyes on me. “This place right here is where I realized that I loved you, Cardia.”
My hands stop moving over the grass and my head snaps up to look at him. “What?” I speak in a soft voice.
“This is where I decided that I couldn’t hurt you. This is where I chose to protect you no matter what… This is where I started feeling alive again…” His voice is quiet, he’s whispering so only I could hear it, the wind and sky along with the grass and flowers were not privy to the words he’s whispering to me.
“And, this is where I want to start our life together,” He says and reaches into his pocket, never looking away from me as he does. “Cardia Beckford…” He holds a ring out in front of me. “Will you marry me, my beloved?”
I start to cry again as I nod my head. “Yes,” I nod. “Yes, Saint, of course I will.” I reach out and place my hand to his cheek.
He takes my other hand in his and slides the ring onto my finger and kisses me with so much love and so much happiness.
I’m alive. I’m really, truly, finally alive.
