so you dated the wrong person and learned a hard lesson. you chose the wrong major and had to start over again. you cherished a friend who backstabbed you. it sucks, but it’s also going to work out. that’s life; you learn, hurt, love, cry, laugh, and keep going. you experience setbacks and you grow and it’s all okay.
When I say “free water, free food, free shelter, free healthcare, free education for everyone” in that “everyone” I even include the people I hate. Too many people get surprised at the idea that I do wish for the people I hate to have better lives.
When I say EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE. These are things ALL people should have. If you reblog this saying “except THIS group” then you’ve missed the point entirely.
i want to remove the boots from necks altogether, not just be the one to put on the boot.
Don’t know about OP, but when I say it, this is not selflessness! It’s not selflessness at all. There are still people I would prefer get fucked over! There are really awful shitty people in the world!
But I understand that the tables always turn. ALWAYS. There is no final glorious revolution where The Right People will be in charge forever. The only way to ensure the boot will never be on your neck again is to throw away the fucking boot. Set the table so you eat well no matter which way it turns!
ALL OF THIS. Leave no one behind. We all deserve food, clean water, clean air, healthcare, housing, electricity, internet, and so forth. No matter who you are, you deserve to be able to access and have what you need to survive.
So yes, yes, yes to “throw away the fucking boot.”
I want the people I hate to step on Legos for the rest of their life, not have that life ended prematurely because of something totally preventable

I'm sorry, cringe culture can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, cause it's dead!
This is something that I need to tell myself every time I try to talk myself out of something awesome. I should be posting some fun this week sometime. I have some available time. Yay!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?
Westworld did this as well. Storytelling is dead!
IF FAN THEORIES ARE RIGHT IT IS A SIGN YOU HAVE TOLD A WELL-PUT TOGETHER AND FOLLOWABLE PLOT, NOT A SIGN YOU NEED TO MAKE UP SOME BULLSHIT FOR A TWIST ENDING. FUCK OFF WITH THIS SHIT.
No wait, I’m not done here:
If the fans get where you are going and ARE STILL HAPPY, you KEEP GOING THERE. It shows they’re invested and your story craft is setting up and paying off properly.
It is not a sign you need to M Night Shamaylan things until narrative is fuckin dead and “surprise endings!” reign supreme. If no one can guess what will happen, you don’t have a plot, you have deus ex machinas strung together like a child’s macaroni necklace. It might be endearing and beloved but its hardly a fuckin masterpiece.
To be utterly frank, this is where “NO SPOILERS! NO SPOILERS EVER! NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO BREATHE ABOUT THE PLOT UNTIL IT’S BEEN OUT ON DVD FOR FIVE YEARS” attitude has left us – And the studios ACTIVELY encourage that shit because first week viewing numbers are their whole lifeblood.
Sure, an “oh shit” moment is great, but if you’re doing it well, I should have that moment watching the show the second, fifth, or hundredth time, knowing how it will go. If being surprised were truly so important to a narrative, why even make a Shakespeare play? Is anyone out there still hoping Romeo and Juliet still get together at the end? Why make mystery novels into movies? Spoiler warning: Hercules Poirot gets the bad guy. Movies that directly follow historical events? Clearly worthless.
Come on, now. Sure, try not to spoil shit for people intentionally, don’t be a dick, but can we calm the fuck down and can Hollywood stop pushing this shit both in social media and with business choices like this?
“i cant help but think that fans should be allowed to like, gather in groups online and theorize and have fun without networks watching in”
-Lindsay Ellis abt game of thrones doing the same thing

I got to "I wake up in the 1980's" and out of fear I looked at the time stamp and it wasn't even half of the video.

random insane lestappen moments that i sometimes remember and question what the hell is going on
when charles slightly choked on his drink bc he was too busy looking at max
when charles hung out with max's family and his cousin because "he was a big fan"
when charles had max's f1 points on his phone background
max's padel teammate implying they won during their joint padel game but charles commented on ig to make sure everyone knows he won and not max
max's race engineer referencing to charles by his first name
max calling charles charlie in a room full of people
when charles had to show the tifosi to not boo max in monza
when charles and max got so busy talking to each other in one interview to the point the press gave up on interviewing them altogether
when max crashed in silverstone and charles said "the biggest win today is that max is okay"
when max messed up charles' free practice lap in brazil and charles changed his radio statement because he found out it was max and not checo and just said "it's not great what he did:/"
lance's epic thirdwheel session
when charles gave an interview about their karting days and started referencing to it as "when max and i were together" but on paper it didn't sound great so the interview had to specify "when max and i were together [in karting]" throughout the entire interview
charles' unexplainable need to wink at max after every race
whatever was going on in austria
So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I can’t do in three hours. And you know what he responded?
“It didn’t take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.”
And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didn’t take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think there’s something to learn there but it’s so warm and my brain is fried so I can’t formulate the actual morale of the lesson.
Saying "I'm not going to draw this thing because I don't know how to draw this thing" is really shooting yourself in the foot, because you've now cut yourself off from an opportunity to grow.
I had a friend in college who was an absolutely amazing artist. I loved seeing his work! One time I said something to the effect of "I could never do that."
He told me something that, as an artist, I resonate with. He said art isn't about natural talent; it's a learned skill. When you tell an artist their level of skill is impossible for you to reach, you're assuming their level of skill is a natural gifting they have, and it discredits the hundreds to thousands of hours of hard work they've put into getting where they are today, and you're cutting yourself off from trying to reach that point yourself.

Highlights from the conference room where they nominated contenders for Word of the Year 2023:
• They put Skibidi Toilet on the projector to explain what “skibidi” means.
• Baby Gronk was mentioned.
• We discussed the Rizzler.
• “Cunty” was nominated.
• “Enshittification” was suggested for EVERY category.
• “Blue Check” (like from Twitter) was briefly defined as “Someone who will not Shut The Fuck Up”
• The person writing notes briefly defined babygirl as “referencing [The Speaker]”. He is now being called babygirl in the linguist groupchats.
• MULTIPLE people raised their hand to say “I cannot stress this enough: ‘Babygirl’ refers to a GROWN MAN”
When technical issues occurred while voting on “kenaissance”, everyone had to reassure the speaker, Ben Zimmer, that he was “benough”
In a stunning upset, the last-minute nomination “(derogatory)” DEFEATS “cunty” as the most useful/most likely to succeed word of 2023.
Someone renominates “babygirl” for word of the year, saying that they have spent the past year trying to figure out if people are “little meow meows, blorbos, or babygirls”. This is in front of a room of hundreds of people.
ENSHITTIFICATION WINS WORD OF THE YEAR 2023
While verifying this was true (it is) I discovered that there is a wikipedia article on enshittification
Even though this means I'm going to end up with a poop emoji on my headstone, I'm ok with it.
UM.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW
@mostlysignssomeportents IS THE PERSON WHO COINED THE TERM "ENSHITTIFICATION"
And we are so proud of our babygirl.

One time I ate probably way too many mushrooms and I could feel my trip going bad. So, I turned to my roommate and I said something along the lines of,
"I feel amazing but I feel like this sensation has a price and I'm about to pay it."
To which he responded, "What are you, catholic?" And that knocked me so firmly out of my mental state that the rest of the trip was hands down the best time I ever did mushrooms.
Yeah that's fair, those tags should part of the main post
