Cordial: Syrup concentrate, you will usually find cordials to be more expensive and have somewhat more unusual or 'traditional'/historical flavours? Elderflower cordial is really nice imo. Cordials are considered kind of fancy in the UK depending on where you buy them.

Squash: A concentrate of crushed (re: SQUASHED) and strained fruit to make liquid that is then dehydrated to concentrate it without making it thick or syrupy. It has the consistency of water, where as cordial is very much a syrup not unlike what you'd add to coffee - though I don't recommend you try to do so. It must be diluted to be drunk comfortably, the flavour is INCREDIBLY strong. Drinking concentrate without diluting it is an unpleasant experience (voice of experience) and can cause stomach upset, vomiting, and interestingly coloured bowel movements (my brother on a dare from his mates).

Squash is generally considered to actually be just a cheap means of flavouring water, very very common as a kid's drink. You'll be somewhat hard pressed to find a UK household that doesn't have a bottle of squash near the sink. All of our kitchen tapwater is drinking safe, its required by law, so a lot of folk just pour a glass or cup of squash like a shot of rum or vodka, and top it off with water or lemonade (sprite, ANYTHING ENDING IN -ADE IN THE UK WILL BE CARBONATED!!!!! CHERRYADE = CARBONATED, ORANGEADE = CARBONATED, LEMONADE = CARBONATED. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! Oh, and our Cider is alcoholic. If you want non-alcoholic Cider, ASK FOR APPLE JUICE THAT'S THE CLOSEST YOU'LL GET). Ribena is a lunch box staple brand of blackcurrent squash that has been prediluted with added sweetener and put into a carton with a straw. Most children before they hit their teens would be drinking these near enough daily before they became all about 'soda/pop'.

we do have concentrated juice, but it's usually frozen and often unsweetened (because why sweeten fruit?), and of course powdered drink concentrate like Kool-aid and its ilk, but that's related to fruit only in branding
