Hate it when people act like John is the more violent of the two. He may be more grouchy but out of the two, Arthur is the one that has consistently acted out in intense violence on a dime. It does not take much to provoke Arthur. He is not soft. He might have some stereotypically posh interests, such as literature or music, but violent outbursts just riddle his history and cling to him like a bloodstain. Yes, John was responsible for the deaths of countless Arthurs, but one must remember that John was under the influence of not only the darkworld’s corruption, but also Kayne. John has been shown multiple times to be shocked and even severely traumatized by Arthur! Lest we forget season three and also the prison pits. John is not an overly violent and savage creature. Especially not compared to Arthur.

It was literally the first or second episode when Arthur very much had the intent to kill a man, and John had to be the one to say "no, not yet"

John might have been the one to kill him later, but that's besides the point
