okay I just read Carry on by Rainbow Rowell and I have ONE question. With no spoilers about the context, does Baz bite Simon with his fangs ever? broooo is just that in carry on I felt he was going to, simon kepts looking at his fangs during one chapter and i was like "wait...im hearing this idea out" and then NOTHING, so Im wondering (and hoping) if... you know... if he ever does

Here’s some more of my concept notes for a Carry On musical adaptation.

Disclaimer: as I’ve said before, I am not a professional by any means, and this is a passion project. Also, ignore the fact that I switch between future and present tenses in the notes, it’s just a rough draft.

The Song/Scene concepts so far:

The opening number, “World of Mages”, to be similar to the opening number of Hamilton or The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals where it’s more to set up the plot than participate in it. Simon will be talked about instead of introduced since I want this song to show the way the majority of the world of Mages views him. It’ll touch on the Greatest Mage prophecy, and some mentions of Simon’s past victories against creatures and the Humdrum.

“Things I Miss Most”, will be Simon’s introduction, and it’ll basically be a musical interpretation of his list in the beginning of the book. To keep the pacing good when adapting to a musical format, this song will extend into the cab and end just before Simon kills the goblin.

The scene where Penny tells us about being abducted by the Humdrum will be its own number called “Dying Spot”. She’ll narrate while the scene happens around her. I also want this to happen earlier in this version than it does in the book since it’ll be big for developing Simon and Penny’s relationship, while setting up Penny’s wants to take Simon away from it all.

Agatha and Simon’s breakup is a duet called “Happily Right Now” where their lyrics are at completely odds with each other and their voices layer, similar to The First Time in Forever (Reprise) from Frozen.

Natasha sings a song called “Bring Me Peace” and it’ll be short, one to two minutes at most, just like the visitings.

Lucy doesn’t get a full number for her visit, but her magic motif plays, faintly mixed in with the visitors motif, and you hear her calling out for Simon.

Baz sings a song called “Hopelessly” which, surprising no one, is about being in love with Simon. (Which gets a reprise right before Simon kisses him in the fire)

The moment where Simon is giving the Humdrum his magic gets a song called “Going Out” that mix Simon’s magical motif with the Humdrum’s, until both cut off, showing that the magic is gone

The finale(before bows) will be called “Carry On” and it’ll cover everything the Epilogue does(Baz’s leavers ceremony/ball, Agatha’s new life in California, and moving in Simon and Penny’s apartment).

I haven’t fleshed out the concept that much, but this is only the beginnings of what this project can be!

Just finished a reread of the simon snow trilogy with my new-to-me physical copies and was delighted to find that the previous owner left commentary!! a lot of it was erased but it was so fun to get to read it sort of along with this person who I will never meet.

This is probably a long shot but it's been years and I still have this fic stuck in my brain. It doesn't exist on ao3 anymore but I guess I'm just wondering if anyone downloaded it or even just remembers it too.

It was a SnowBaz kid fic. I think it was called "Drops of Jupiter" after the Train song. The title may have been different but the song was definitely featured in the work. Simon and Baz never got together in school. Simon is raising his daughter on his own. The mother was either Agatha or an original character. She either died or ran away. I don't remember how much of a canon-divergent au it was. I think magic still existed as there was a scene that used the lyrics of the song as a spell.

Plot-wise, Baz is a pre-school/kindergarten/early edu teacher. He teaches Simon's daughter. She ends up bringing them together. I'm pretty sure Simon was a baker and had a new bakery he was trying to run. Penny was there, she might have had a kid too, but probably not.

I think there was a scene where Simon and Baz went on a date and the daughter was left with someone, maybe Lady Salisbury? I also feel like there might have been a burglary that Simon and Baz walked in on after the date?

There was also a scene where the lyrics to Drops of Jupiter was a spell. I think it was similar to the twinkle twinkle little star scene, but it also might have just put pretty decorations in the daughter's hair.

I know it's a long shot but I think just the knowledge that someone else remembers this fic too would be a comfort.

Hello hello, an early wip Wednesday today because I will be very busy moving between apartments since I’m off work today. Hopefully will have some new writing soon but alas I am super exhausted. Take another look at my trans Baz smut fic

“What are you saying?” I'm at a loss for words. I’ve never in my life been at a loss for words.

“Imayhavefantasizedaboutfuckingyou” he gasps (new word) out. “Once or twice, or a few times.”

His words send me reeling. The dildo is still fucking me into the stratosphere. I did turn the speed down a little in hopes that I don’t reach overstimulation before I come. You’d think having a full-blown conversation while masturbating would take away from my arousal, but his words have only made me more aroused.

At his confession, I clench my eyes shut and open them again. Desperately trying not to come. It’s too soon. I have to see how this plays out.

He sees the panicked look on my face, and desperately tries to backtrack.

“Fuck, this is so weird. I’m sorry, I'm making you uncomfortable. I’ll just leave, forget I ever said anything.” He looks struck with grief.

Stitches and Sentences

Thanks to @thewholelemon for the early Sunday tag, and to @leithillustration and @theimpossibledemon for tagging me on your "Hot Goals Summer" posts. Since I have only one month left before school starts again, I figured I'd merge both ideas-- so have a traditional update + goals below!

STITCHES I learned the hard way during my first COC that you cannot wait until the prompts are released to start, so I've been plugging away for a while now. This year, I want to have new doll art every.single.day. Yes, that's right. This will not be one set of dolls whose outfits I change, but ACTUAL NEW DOLLS DAILY. This decision is, admittedly, a little insane, and while I have made good progress, I've been very scattered about it.

What have I accomplished so far?

A cohesive plan! I have a theme for my COC countdown, and I've selected 20ish doll concepts so far. Some dolls are destined to fit prompts that repeat every year (WLW, Sideships, AU, etc) and the rest are flexible enough to fit whatever the actual prompts are once they are announced.

A growing tub of dolls. I've made a total of 22 dolls so far, including: 2 Ebbs, 2 Dryads, 1 Fiona, 1 Shep, 1 Agatha, and so many Bazzes. This may sound impressive, but most of them are naked, several are unassembled, and very few of them belong to the same concept/scene.

So what are my Hot Summer Sewing Goals?

Make an obscene number of dolls. There are 30 days of COC. Assuming each day requires at least 2 dolls, I have 38 left to make. I want to get through at least half of those before summer is up. I like to joke about being a doll factory, but I will truly need to become one to finish in time!

Get organized. I've been sewing and gathering supplies at random so progress is hard to see. I need a system. Right now I'm thinking mass produce all the dolls first, then make all the clothes, then gather all the props, etc.

Enjoy my tub of dolls for making it this far. If you are also interested in sentences, thoughts are below.

SENTENCES My one and only goal is to write this damn book, and yet I've made so little progress this year/summer. Rather than focus on the struggles, let's celebrate and set goals!

What have I accomplished so far?

Progress! I have a rough outline and 8k words for my novel. Not as far as I'd like to be, but it's something.

Fic! I thought my SnowBaz days were over, but it was a welcome distraction to dive into something easy and familiar when I felt like I had forgotten how to form sentences. Feel free to drop a kudos on my ridiculous party robot fic, Chosen Love Productions. It's both sweet and hilarious.

What are my Hot Summer Sentence Goals?

Write 15 minutes a day. Any progress is good progress.

Start using brackets and TK when writing. I am a perfectionist---what a surprise! (lol) Seriously though, this trait is a drag when writing. I need to embrace the idea that the first draft just needs to exist, which means if I don't like something, I can put it in brackets and return to it later.

Phew! That was so long. I'm sorry. But, I hope putting all this out there will keep me accountable. As a reward for all the words, have some pictures of my gorgeous new sewing/writing desk. I love her so much.
