hi everyone, there was this one zarry fic on ao3 titled ache in me i guess, in which harry was an actor, and a drug addict, apparently a friend of his sister dies due to a pill from his hand, and that's why he is fucked up in that fic, and he goes to therapy too, i think the writer deleted that fic, any idea where i can find the link to that fic?

Every once in a while I see the take that merthur is 'unhealthy' and like... I mean. That's the point?? I'd actually love to see far more of it in fics??? (yes yes I'm aware people usually say this about their power dynamics but that's a rant for another day).

Just - give me both Merlin and Arthur willing to burn down the whole world for each other if only to keep the other safe. Give me both of them forsaking their morals, their convictions, everything they believe in for each other. Give me the ruthless battle couple that will each lose their absolute shit when they see the other in harm's way. Like. This is literally canon why is there so little of it, especially when it comes to Arthur? He has proven more than once that he would do just about anything to save Merlin. I promise it's so much fun on the side of helpless, devastating devotion, of absolute ruthlessness for the one they love above everyone.

It's about the 'I know I can be a monster, and you will love me anyway.' About the 'I know nothing but that you will forgive me and I will forgive you because I understand. I too would lose myself for you.' About the 'I would rather lose myself and everything I believe in before I see you come to harm.' I never really know how to explain why the concept of zarry is so great to me but here’s an attempt: I think it’s simply because of how pure yet angsty it is. harry is beautiful, playful, goofy, silly, long flowing hair and a huge heart. zayn is a bit more reserved and edgy, but still just as beautiful. they balance each other out in such a magnetic way. harry keeps zayn grounded and zayn loves him unconditionally. zayn is harrys special one. he talks zayn through his problems and smothers him with love, while zayn holds him and whispers in his ear that he is his forever. harry talks way too much, but zayn listens to every word. his favorite thing in the entire world is the feeling of his fingers in harry’s hair. they stay up late, they love snow days in, they fight and kiss out in the pouring rain, zayn calls and harry doesn’t answer because he’s been hurt, harry bakes zayn something new every week, zayn draws harry while he’s sleeping, zayn loves for the way harrys green eyes glisten with curiosity and love, harry feels the same about zayns, and they can never tear their eyes from each other. and maybe even if they move on someday, nothing can replace the purity and balance they both felt for one another. harry will look into the sky and think of calling zayn, and zayn does the same but neither of them call. the last time they see each other is passionate and warm with a gloom hanging in the air. harry leaves and looks back, but zayns gone already, and they go on living as one person who has been cut in two

when zayn gets reading glasses, harry jumps him every time he wears them for the first week. it’s a thing

zayn always pays extra attention to harry’s love handles in bed

harry’s nosy as all hell and for their fifth anniversary as a couple he’s searching the house for his anniversary gift and comes across the ring zayn’s had since nine months in (though h doesn’t know that). he can’t stop blushing every time zayn walks into a room.

zayn knows harry found the ring, so he deliberately delays his proposal and relishes in harry’s pout for a month before he caves

if you wanna find love - i think the main story arc in this fic is zayn’s and it’s gorgeous

watched the ocean eat the sand by @disarmd - first of all: i am incapable of writing a rec list and not putting this on there. but second: my favourite thing about this fic was zayn’s pov and how yearning and aching and quiet it was

Effulgent : this was the first zarry fic I ever read and I love it so very much. It's my favourite zarry fic of all time. It's a canon divergence fic after Zayn left and Harry just had to be sassy about it. Also tumblr and stan twitter make an appearance and I love the representation (42k)

We're Still Roaming : This one is just single parents zarry being part of the school pta and the shenanigans they get up to. Zayn finds Harry annoying. Harry finds Zayn insufferable (39k)

Forever yours (faithfully) : This one is set in 2021 and is canon complaint till 2020. It's also kind of a band reunion fic. And baby girl zigi exists so that adds an interesting perspective (35k)

Let me count the bruises : Soulmate AU where Zayn is a private investigator and Harry is missing. The author is one of my favourites so I would recommend reading all their fics because they are all absolutely incredible (68k)

Blue skies from pain : Harry calls up Zayn on Call or Delete and Zayn picks up. Set in 2017. It's very angsty but I love the characterization (37k)

Never did believe in miracles : Fake Dating AU. It's ridiculously cute. Also once again check out the author's other work. You'll not be disappointed (15k)

I would lay my Armor down : Harry texts Zayn after Zigi breakup for the first time. I found this fic to be very in character. Also bonus points for zouis feels (25k)

Every single thing : Ik that Grace's (@this-onegoes) most popular fic is TTIDA and with good reason. But this one is my personal favourite because it was the first fic of her's I ever read and the characterization blew me away. It's so beautifully realistic, messy and raw. It's an AU of famous Harry and philanthropist Zayn (45k)

All the days of my life : Accidental marriage fic. It's ridiculously cute until these idiots decide to mess it up. It's set during the band days. I adore this one (41k)

Where did the party go : THIS ONE KILLED ME. It's deals with Zayn becoming famous and Harry being a normal guy and it covers their relationship over a span of about five years. It's heartbreaking but so well written (34k)
