This is deadass one of the sweetest asks I've gotten. I go back and forth with my motivation to make video content about the things that I'm passionate about because I have a voice in my head that always goes "no one cares dude."
But when I'm reminded that people out there do care, and even sometimes relate to the feelings I express about media I love is really heartwarming and motivating.

one of my main issues with omori is the cast. like i know everyone here loves kel and basil as people, or how aubrey and hero help explore the theme of grief inthe game or even how funny some of the side characters are. and i understand all that. i really do. but i still firmly believe the game would have been better if they all were just sunny omori. no differences just more sunny. like ten of them i thinmk. thats all. thank you for coming to my ted talkd byee

I know it's pretty widely discussed how Sunny is a bit lazy and a bit of a coward and a bit selfish but sometimes I feel like the conversation stops there when I really think that should only be the starting point of discussion of his character traits
Because to get the most satisfying ending available, you as Sunny have to pretty consistently make the decision to be active or brave or selfless even when the immediate result of those actions is pain. He isn't being lazy or cowardly or selfish when he jumps into the lake after basil during two days left
Maybe this is just something that everyone else just implicitly understands so it doesn't need to be discussed and I'm the odd one out here lol, these traits of his definitely do exist, it's pretty much the reason things got to this point and they even still show themselves throughout the Sunny route, like with the bathroom scene
Idk maybe I'm just feeling a little emotional because thinking of the moments where Sunny overcomes his instincts to run especially right after remembering the truth makes me want to choke-cry
IMO the moment sunny jumps into the lake is the actual start of the sunny route
It's the first time he actually choses to save basil
From that point on he's set in his track. but it's a choice he has to make again and again and again, even if it only matters the last time, which is usually true for this kind of choices.
"Your choices matter, if only the last time you make them" is a good way to describe branching in omori. It's really powerful in game (the power of repeated prompts thar change meaning each time).

Almost missed this, but I agree with this so hard. I’ve always harped on the fact that the most prominent change to headspace between routes is the Mari stuff, and the most significant thing that actually happens to cause that are the events at the lake.
