The picture on the left was taken today. The one on the right was the first time I met this kid named Giovanni. We almost fought that day, but my shoulder was wet from tears he cried. He had so much on his plate. And the main thing he needed was a literal shoulder to cry on. He almost quit school like so many do everyday but he didn’t. I’m so proud of him and all my students who graduated today!! Ended up at my friend @4plaidstripes house to talk art and ended up giving a lesson in art, doing a demo, and beating ass in connect four. Getting kids into the arts and encouraging them to MAKE art is one of the best things you can do! The arts make them think differently,and use a part of their brain most don’t.
