Tadé Styka (1889 – 1954) was a Polish‑born painter who built his career in France and later in the United States. The eldest son of renowned panorama artist Jan Styka, he showed prodigious talent from childhood—receiving a distinction from the French President at age 11. Styka is celebrated for his vivid, highly detailed portraits and historic or religious scenes that capture dramatic, emotionally charged moments. His work earned him the French Legion of Honour, and he remained an influential portraitist until his death in New York in 1954.
