theheroalfredjones:
He had been patient, up to this point. Anyone that knew Alfred knew that he truly had a kind heart. He might be egotistical, and he might sometimes talk before thinking which made him come off as an asshole. But overall, he was the golden boy at Hogwarts for a reason. However, his patience with this date was slowly dwindling. This had been such a stupid idea. But if he hadn’t agreed to it, Ivan wouldn’t have left him alone. And right now, that’s what he wanted - to be left alone.
He glared at the fork suddenly offered to him, trying not to smack it out of the other’s hand. His appetite lost, which said something for a boy who felt eating was his favorite hobby. After what Ivan had said, he hated this. He hated this sudden attempt to go back to flirting, this being over the top, this sickening presentation of this date. It would make anyone uncomfortable, their hatred aside or not. But the fire in his belly kept building, until finally he stood up abruptly.
“I’m going to the bathroom.” He wasn’t the kind of guy to date and dash, especially when he hadn’t even touched his own food. But, he definitely needed space, he knew that much. Which was why he had darted off to the bathroom, clutching the sink counter and glaring into the mirror. This was stupid. He tugged his bow tie off, immediately trashing the thing. He got his hands wet and ran them through the carefully sleeked back hair, seeming more wild and untamed like he usually did. Popped a few buttons open on the top of his shirt. Why had he dolled up? Why had he tried?
He shouldn’t have been surprised when the mirror shattered, taking a quick step back to avoid being showered with reflective shards. He’d been avoiding magic for so long, but his anger swelled within him, and his body has responded on instinct. He stared at the broken mirror for a bit, one eye reflecting in a shard back to him as he blinked, before splashing his face with water. He needed to make it through this date. He couldn’t fail.
[ With the other retreating, Ivan plopped the fruits in his mouth as he sat back. The other was clearly at his breaking point. He could obviously keep up the act but with the other acting how he was... ]
[ This wasn’t fun anymore. Ivan’s mind lingered on that expression on the other’s face, the scowl, the tenseness. Where was the push back? Why was he restraining himself? Ivan knew he wasn’t wrong: unrestrained retaliation was what they specialized in. It was sadomasochistic in nature but he didn’t care. He knew the enjoyment was mutual. It had to be. He couldn’t afford to be wrong. ]
[ The other was guarded - that was it. Because he was being told a certain thing happened, of course Jones would take the opposite stance. Adding in the contrary personality he had put up, Ivan had confused him. That was the rationale. ]
[ Aka, Ivan was the reason this date was going to crash and burn - and not in the way Ivan wanted it to. ]
[ He sipped his wine, brow furrowed. With the other in this uncooperative mood, convincing him today to simply let go would far from give him success. Then what? What was the use to continuing his attempts this round? Yes, the other would hate him at this point but this hate - the evasive hatred that had left him alone at the table - was not the kind of hatred he wanted. ]
“ Dammit, Jones. Why? ”
[ Alfred obviously wanted to leave. His jaw clenched, eye cast downward. He was so accustomed to knowing what people wanted and then using that to his advantage but their goals were so opposite - Alfred wanted to go, Ivan wanted to stay. More importantly, Ivan needed Alfred to be around him to suceed. ]
[ He’d need to start from the beginning. He just needed to relearn the other. ]
[ The man quietly stood from the table, heading to the restroom. Ivan attempted to gather his thoughts as he stood outside the door. No, maybe it would be better to not have these thoughts. No scripts, no planning. Perhaps then it would be more... Candid. One breath, two - He stepped inside, searching for Alfred. As he found a broken mirror, his brow bent. He procured his wand, waving it to fix the mess before returning his gaze to the one he sought. Alfred. Ivan’s mouth opened, attempting to formulate words of some kind without truly thinking them through. ]
“I don’t know what you’re doing but I don’t either.”
[ His jaw immediately clamped shut after such an awkward confession, teeth clenched as cheeks turned red. What the hell did he just spout? Shouldn’t he been able to say more? More sync and composed? Giving his next few words at least some thought, his eyes scanned over the absent bowtie, hair... his opened shirt. ]
“ I like what you did. What you did with your - ”
[ He gestured awkwardly to the other’s hair and pointed to his shirt. ]
“ ... I’ll wait back at the table. ”
[ A hasty retreat to the dinner table, staring at his food murderously. Never again would he attempt to simply spout what was in his mouth to Jones. He poured himself a whole glass of wine, chugging heavily from it. ]

sweet-sconemaker-arthur
Good Lord, he was utterly clueless. Clueless and pissed.
Arthur wanted to erupt into a fit of laughter as his eyes scanned the other man. It was obvious Ivan was holding himself back. Matthew had warned Arthur about Ivan’s temper and brute strength (though, of course Arthur didn’t need to be warned. He’d experienced it after all). Yet, Arthur was a cheeky bastard through and through. Besides, he was confident Ivan wouldn’t do something violent since he’s in trouble for doing something probably in lieu of that.
“Let’s see…” Arthur placed a hand on his cheek as he looked away, wanting to appear contemplative. “What to do with you…”
He wondered what was going on inside Ivan’s mind right now. Perhaps he was already whacking his brain, digging through theory after theory why Arthur would report him and cause his dear wand to be confiscated. Arthur bit his inner lip to keep himself from grinning.
He could tell him the truth, but where would be the fun in that? A date? But without the commitment, it’s stupid. He could ask him to clean up his house and have him do errands, but that would be too boring and he hated the consequence of how Ivan will react once he find out the truth. What about having him stand facing the wall and making him think about what he did? No, hilarious, but no.
Arthur could ask him to fuck him again. That would be pleasurable. However, Ivan could easily turn that to his advantage, so pass.
Arthur dropped his hand and fixed his green eyes on Ivan’s startling violet. “I don’t know.” With a deep sigh and a shrug, he continued. “What do you want to do?”
[ He didn’t know? He didn’t know? Ivan’s nails would have broken through skin were it not for the fact he wore gloves. His smile was biting his face at this point, teeth aching from the pure force of which his teeth ground. His eyes darkened as he dared again to close their distance, to force the other to tell him no again. What even was it that Kirkland had found worth to report him? He hadn’t thought the other to be a fire-starter but he was sure not to be limited by that again. ]
[ He turned, his hands falling to his side. Kirkland was an eyesore at this point with his indecisiveness. Ivan had a whole menagerie of skills at the other’s disposal in exchange for his wand and Kirkland hadn’t even chosen one? It was an insult to his abilities. The other had seemed to enjoy when they had intercourse. Then again, the other had paused a long period of time before speaking. A sigh escaped him. ]
“ You really are insulting me in more ways than one, Kirkland. First, reporting me and now not even knowing what you want from me. Am I truly not worthy of much note? ”
[ His words were more tired than anything, despite the fire still residing in his throat. He could retrieve an item for the other, clean the other’s home, provide some domestic solutions, and again, sex was never off the table for Ivan. He didn’t particularly care about what the other wanted from him but there was a limit due to his lack of wand. A groan escaped him, dropping the smiling act. What did the other want that would - ]
[ Eyes widened as he remembered their first time, the anxiousness of the other. That platinum head turned slightly, not fully looking to the other but acknowledging him. ]
“ Are you still having sleeping trouble? ”
[ Body faced body as Ivan stood in front of the smaller man, looking down at him with a unshifting gaze. His hand was extended, searching the other’s expression as he continued his proposal. ]
“ If I help you with that, I expect you to give me my wand back. Unless you prefer more physical assistance? After all, you seemed to enjoy that quite a bit last time. ”
kawaiiwhales:
[Stein hadn’t been awake for more than half an hour when he had suddenly heard a tap on his door. He immediately knew who it was without even having to look. No doubt it was Curiosity, the demon whom he had requested to come back the next morning. The demon had adhered to the request, no doubt. After all, he was technically at the professor’s disposal whenever he was called for]
“You can come in. I don’t even need to open the door. I know you can simply slip right underneath of it.”
[Stein took a sip of the coffee he had started to drink. That though was amusing to him. How was it that a being that had a similar enough body to that of a human was able to make their body dissipate and reappear whenever they so wished? It was against all scientific logic. Perhaps it was simply the demon’s magic that allowed such a feat.]
[ Smoke leaked through the cracks in the door and slowly bunched up near the other. A bent pillar formed, wisps tightly bound until falling away to reveal the demon casually lounging against a desk. His tail swayed from side to side as he rested his chin on his clawed hand, that smile reaching from ear to ear. ]
“ Aw, be a little nicer to me, Stein. I’m simply attempting to be courteous. But perhaps it’s because you haven’t finished your first cup of coffee. ”
[ Curiosity walked over to him, alighting himself onto the other’s armrest. His arms rested on the head, chin on his arms as he looked at the drink he had directed before. He let off a hum, satisfied at the angle he laid at. ]
“ What, then, is the itinerary today? ”

How dare he go and smile so brightly like that? What was Victoria supposed to do when the man she had gotten used to being an infuriating, aggravating shit of a human wizard the likes of which she has never met… smiled like that? She had to just take a moment to gaze off into space, that smile was a lot to process.
“One second there love.” Victoria took that moment to down whatever was left of her drink and quickly order another. That one was quickly downed as well.
“Alright then love. You asked for it.” Smirking, she grabbed his arm and with a strength that came from adrenaline and the forces of liquid courage, pulled his weight out of the stool and dragged him out the door. “Lord knows we ain’t having a good time staying in here.” A snicker from the side had her blushing slightly as she glared at the offender.
“Fuck off mate. C’mon then! There’s fun to be had.”
[ He nearly stumbled out of his chair but he didn’t appear thrown off by her forthrightness. In fact, his grin deepened at such an action, following her willingly. A light appeared in his eyes that lingered as his footsteps became more surefooted. There was barely any signs of inebriation and that smile spoke otherwise. As they left the door, he tugged back to a halt, correcting her hand to be in his. ]
“ You might lose me if you’re the only one holding on. Don’t think I’m going to wake up in an alley alone again! ”
[ He pulled Victoria close, the smell of alcohol still lingering on his body but his gaze felt more concentrated than it did before. Those eyes took in the other as if she were breath, those lips painfully close to those wild locks. ]
“ So, where are we heading off to? ”
A Morning In the Museum
aristotle-s-lover:
[A small, smartly (if nerdly) dressed woman stepped quietly into the room and came to rest behind the tall onlooker.]
“Is there something I can help you with?”
[She puffed her chest out proudly, quite proud of the collection she curated. Her name tag read Maia Pappa, and her smile said ‘I’m quite sure I’ll answer any question you have.’ She slid her glasses up her nose.]
“You’ve chosen one of our most interesting pieces to stop by. May I ask what drew you to it?”
[ He staggered back in his steps as she appeared, mouth slightly agape at the surprisingly vigilant and cheerful young woman. His eyes narrowed slightly, shoulders taking a few moments before they relaxed, nodding to the statue. ]
“ Yes... I wanted to learn more about this piece. They say it was carved by a certain madman but I couldn’t quite believe it myself. I wanted to see it in person but it would be interesting to have an oral introduction to it- ”
[ His eyes moved over to her nametag, raising a brow. ]
“ Ms. Pappa. Could you tell me more about the sculptor? ”
Innocent Bystander
landforces:
[There were sudden movements, that Gilbert couldn’t actually make out what they were, such was the pounding inside his head. He wanted to focus, deep in his mind he knew he had to be worried, those men were fighting right there - collateral effect would be himself getting hurt. There were cries, grunts, thumps and yet none of them could distract Gilbert from the pain he was feeling now.]
[Until it stopped. Almost all at once.]
[The metallic taste in his mouth didn’t come solely from the close relation between smell and taste, Gilbert noticed, in his attempt to not scream, to control what he had been feeling, he had bitten open the inner part of his cheek. So much for controlling yourself.]
[His eyes focused on the man on the floor, the one he had to take revenge on for kidnapping him. Ivan had said he was not dead. It almost too hard to believe when there was a small puddle of blood forming underneath the head of the man. And for some reason, Gilbert didn’t fell exactly glad that ‘Viktor’ had won. Hell, he wasn’t even acknowledging that Ivan had been hurt too. Why? Weren’t them at the same side?]
[Once free, Gilbert took his time to make the circulation come back to his limbs, cleaning his face from the sweat and tears. And through all this, his eyes didn’t meet Viktor’s. They were either on the passed out man, or nowhere at all.]
“I–” [His voice was very weird right now, hoarse, strangled. Not his. He cleaned his throat and tried again - no matter how much blood he was still tasting.] “I am fine.”
[He had so many questions to make, to both Viktor and that man. But, he decided, it was better for him to calm himself, after all, no matter how many ‘I am fine’ he hissed out, his shaky hands couldn’t be hidden. Taking the can, he opened it and took a gulp, choking when the bubbling liquid hit the teeth wound inside of his cheek. It should have expected, but it took him by surprise. How stupid.]
“…Who is he?”
“ Him? Well, for one, he’s the one that knocked you out and likely took your memory. That’s all you need to know but I’m sure there’s more you want to know. ”
[ With the drink accepted, ‘Viktor’ turned back to the one he had just apprehended. He patted his down for any objects, opening his overcoat to see if there was anything else. Documents of various kinds were tossed to the floor as ‘Viktor’ rested him against the wall to sit upright, tsking at the blood pooling. ]
“ I would have preferred something not so messy but... It’s what had to be done. You want to ask your questions of him, yes? Of how you got here? I have some of my own as well so he isn’t going to die easy on us. ”
[ And he returned to his bag, procuring the duct tape and proceeding as he had before. Within moments the other was secured and shoeless. The taller man gave a sigh, retreating into the bathroom. It was a process, it seemed, taking each factor and eliminating them one by one. Once the blood stains were covered with towels and the other’s head “bandaged,” ‘Viktor’ sat across from Gilbert on the ground, opening his own can of soda and drinking from it. ]
[ Words lingered in his throat that he dare not share. He picked up the documents, scanning through them casually. His eyes flitted across the page but never to his ‘bait.’ This would matter little in the long run - after all, he didn’t intend to leave the other in the light for long. ]
“ Fake documents. He’s from abroad but it appeared he was also covering for someone else. I hadn’t known he had an accomplice in all this... ”
[ His brow furrowed as he tossed the documents towards his companion to examine more fully. ]
“ Any of these ring a bell? ”
inionnaforaoise:
“I told you! I don’t really think about-” her protest died on her lips as her hand was grasped tightly, a sharp hiss escaping through her teeth as pain shot up her arm. Victoria watched with wide and slightly frightened eyes as Ivan recited the details of their contract before the bright light nearly blinded her. Shielding her eyes, she turned away slightly and didn’t hear a word of what he said before the light appeared. Once it was gone and he released her, she looked down with shock to see the wound healed. So, did this mean it was done?
“Wait, what was that phrase you said? A spell or something?” she asked, snapping out of her reverie before she took in his ‘human’ form. It would, certainly still turn a few heads but there were stranger looking humans out there than what he looked like currently. “Ah, yes that is- *ehem* that is great.” Bloody demons, she groaned internally. “How come you couldn’t change your hands though? Just a, ‘demon’ thing or is it a personal one?” This creature was bringing forth too many questions for her comfort.
Looking over at her now cold coffee (ew) she sighed before nodding. “Aye, if you don’t mind that is. Can’t stand cold coffee.” the comment about their sleeping arrangements however, had her blushing slightly. Her apartment, while spacious, was most definitely what one would call a ‘single person’s’ apartment that wasn’t accommodating to guests. The couch could fold out but that wouldn’t do for the long run, if the hunch in her stomach in regards to how long he would be staying was anything to go by.
“I mean… fuck, if you must then yes you are. Any funny business though your arse is going right to the couch you hear?”
[ A light smile escaped him at all these questions, the way her mind attempted to struggle in all these mysteries. In truth, she had not known what she had walked herself into but that was not his concern - he needed to make her feel comfortable and that this was worth what she had just traded in. So his heels swiveled back to her, brow raised and relieved at the moment that he was no longer in tune with the fleeting desires that passed through in her mind. Though, given enough time, he wondered if he could simply read them off her expression like the words of a novel. ]
“ Ms. Victoria, what I said was my true name of the infernal tongue. Demons all have one. The hands, of course, are so I have immediate access to my magic. If I completely seal off my abilities, well... I can’t exactly protect you as I promised, can I? ”
[ But there were other arrangements that should be examined as well, weren’t there? The room they currently resided in was somewhat messy - it was quite obvious she didn’t mean to have guests over at this time and so far she’s only given signs she lived alone. His lips pressed into a wry smile as he made his way over to the bed, sitting on the covers and humming playfully. ]
“ You’re quite kind to me, Ms. Victoria. This is a wonderfully sturdy piece of furniture and so soft as well! I’m more than happy to sleep anywhere you want me to. ”
[ He missed the familiar flick of his tail, the curl of teasing that it would showcase, but he would have to live with it for now. He considered if the young woman really would be comfortable with him in here, given his nature and given her presumptions. In fact, it was a surprise she had allowed him to stay at all. Perhaps he made a good cup of coffee? A chuckle escaped him as he dissipated into cold smoke, reappearing at the door with a new, steaming cup of coffee and freshly made breakfast. ]
“ This time, be sure to eat it all, Ms. Victoria. It would be a waste of food otherwise. In the meantime, I’ll put away those other dishes. ”
“Thank god I’m wearing gloves, because you’re too hot to handle.” ((It's the best cheesy pickup line))
“ I’m afraid you misinterpreted. Gloves are a fashion sense. Mittens are for handling heated items. Though, I’d say this conversation lacks the need for such protective wear. ”
missameliajones:
“Ivan, good name.”
[Amelia’s heart beat a little too fast for a moment. She reached up and grabbed his hand, shaking it vigorously. What an intense man.]
“I’m Amelia. I’d love to grab coffee. Do you know a good place? I admit, I haven’t been here long and I don’t know any yet.”
[ His brow raised as she took his hand, giving a firm shake in response. She was somewhat charming despite the subpar flirting tactic. And he had some time to kill, she may have some other amusing things to share. ]
“ There’s a quaint family shop that way. I hear they also make some nice scones but I’ve never gotten the chance to try them. Perhaps you would like to try one? ”
It’s out of the bag
thebeautyofliberty:
“Ivan! What did you just let loose in my house?” The problem is he has so many valuables–trying to take an immediate tally of them would be impossible. But Francis’ primary concern was still with exactly what the thing was. “Are you alright? Where did it go?”
“ I... Found a creature that steals valuables and can hide an infinite amount in their fur... I was just passing by when I had captured the thing and I didn’t intend for it to... hehe... get out... ”
[ A light laugh came from him after that little confession and he continued to stagger after the tracks, nearly stumbling over his own two feet. ]
