I’m currently reading The Women. It’s about nurses in Vietnam. This quote made me cry. No, I’ve never been to war. I did work in the covid ICU from January 2020-2023. In the thick of covid my grandma told me people didn’t want to hear about death all the time. I was 22-23 years old putting people in body bags the same age as me. I see people die daily and most people don’t even it see once in their life. I was just trying to figure out who I was while watching people die on full life support with no other live saving options. Once that patient died we would bag them up and put a new patient just the as sick or worse in that bed. The amount of PTSD I have from covid is unreal. I wish more people in the real world understood what we went through. I’m 27 now and I still have nightmares. I’m still an ICU nurse. There are still sick dying people who need help. Over the past 5 years I have grown and changed in so many ways. I still struggle with the long term effects of PTSD from covid.

people think they shouldn't vote as a protest or whatever because they've been raised on boycotts. which do sometimes work.

boycotts deprive the target of money.

not voting does not deprive the government of money.

it does, however, deprive you of power.

it's not like a boycott.

Oh BTW, it's important that as many people vote for Harris as possible, because we don't want a scenario where the votes are close enough that it might be taken to court (much less the conservative-leaning Supreme Court) and ruled in Trump's favor. And yes, this also applies if you live in a blue state; we don't want to risk any doubt anywhere who the winner is.
