i don't intend for this post to be only seen as mean towards people who do this (who happen to be mostly teens, btw). but it's not that hard to realize that those comments are completely focused on an artist's physical look rather than their art. mitski's music and art is obviously something very deep and intimate for her, and since the beginning she's been singing about her experiences as an asian-american singer and woman. i don't think it's fair for her to only be seen as an 'indie sad singer' or for you guys to make you her 'mommy'. some people obviously don't respect her and neither take her art serious and it's sooo. sad, so lame. it's just an endless cycle of performing likes and interests just because they're trending on tiktok. btw the whole strawberry cow, frog, whatever cottagecore uwu animal was fucking sucked.

completely agree with the points made however i feel it's imperative to note that this is actually extremely fucking racist and almost entirely due to racism. it is no coincidence that these people are sexualizing her and ignoring her incredibly powerful art: it is not alongside the fact that shes an asian woman but BECAUSE shes an asian woman. mitski has been trivialized and fetishized and demeaned since her debut and its because shes asian. like you cant brush this off as kids being stupid or people not understanding art it is almost always because the people doing this are uhhhh racist.

anyways! interact with this post if you're a LGBTQ-phobe who's against queer headcanons and see them as separate from other headcanons due to thinking our identities as inherently sexual and/or taboo! Just wanna see something! /s

For real though. If, for example, you'll accept headcanons such as Iskall being an ex-assassin, but won't accept headcanons of hermits being trans, that's straight up queerphobia. In one situation, you are clearly capable of separating character from content creator. (We can all assume that no one is making headcanons about the real-life content creator Iskall's past, it's only about the character, and that's ok.) But in the other, it's for some reason too personal or weird?

The way you phrased this also implies that you are okay with people headcanoning the hermits' characters as cis and het, but not as queer or trans. Since you didn't say gender/sexuality headcanons in general, just LGBTQ+ headcanons specifically.

Anyways, this is homophobic and transphobic af. I'm aware that you will probably just block me. But I am asking you to please reconsider this post and its impact.

Here's something ive been thinking about fondly and I'm in the process of writing something for, but its Team ZITS Ghostbusters. Ghostbustzits? Uh name in process. Basically ive been binging any Ghostbusters content i can find and smashed my other hyperfixation into it. And you get this mess! Its basically a step up from PhasmoZits au. But i have thought about it!

This is also based off of Shadeswift's ghostbusters zits au very loosely.
