I feel like collage can also mean putting two different types of media together (like painting and poem in this case)? texts on pictures is one of the major things you’ll see on tumblr and especially tumblr. I don’t know why but i think many of them are beautifully done. it’s an easy way to give the texts a visual context and give the pictures a possible explanation even the two were totally irrelevant before. all forms of art are linked

I disagree. I wouldn’t call this a collage at all. I’d call it “Picture with text on”. It’s not like the person took the text from a magazine, cut it out, and stuck it onto the image. This was done digitally. I also don’t believe that this is a poem either. I would just call it a sentence.

But the image and it’s meaning are beautiful nonetheless. I just think that the kind of collage that relates back to our class is different from this.
