if this is eggs from their chickens, which seems most likely considering the amount and color, they were probably washed. Chicken eggs are usually covered in dried chicken poop. (Used to live on a farm.)

If your eggs are routinely covered in chicken poop then you're not keeping your coop and nesting boxes clean enough or you are raising way too many chickens in too small a space. An occasional poop egg can happen but it should not be the norm.

(This is, incidentally, why some countries refrigerate supermarket eggs and some do not -- it's better not to wash eggs until you're ready to use them, because it removes the protective natural film and makes them rot faster/makes them vulnerable to bacteria. If you do wash them, they have to go in the fridge because they lack this film. Countries where factory chickens are overcrowdedand kept in less clean conditions tend to get poopy eggs which have to be washed before sale, so they're fridge eggs. Countries where eggs aren't refrigerated in travel and supermarkets can't wash them prior to sale, so have to keep chickens in conditions that result in clean eggs.)

Yeah I was just at my cousin's farm with 4 dozen chickens and almost no poop on the eggs, like maybe 1 or 2 every week or so and it's easy to wipe off with a dry towel. It's not normal to wash eggs, but almost all eggs in Canada are power washed because our egg laying hens are in very small individual cages unless otherwise specified.
