I wish I could find it, but I swear I have a recollection of reading an interview with Arakawa-sensei where she said that in order to not slowly use up the power of the Philosopher’s Stone, the homunculi actually do need to eat and sleep every so often. If anyone can find me a link, I’ll be sure to add it to this post.

are you two. a kismessitude (if you don't understand what that means, it's basically frenemies.... with benefits. You hate and loathe each other but also look out and care for each other as well, considering the term itself is a portmanteau of 'kismet" [ the Arabic word for fate/destiny] and nemesis. So from the etymology alone you to were destined to meet... as nemesises. Oh and the symbol is a spade ->♠)

Does Envy, well, envy.. anything about Edward?

So I took the official height chart from season one and season five and combined them and…

By the Promised Day, Ed has gone from 149cm/4’10.7 to 164cm/5’4.7” — meanwhile Envy has stayed at 157cm/5’1.8”

and uh… not to spoil it or anything, but by the time of the epilogue, Ed actually hits 5’8” so he’s still not done growing. Obviously, Envy could just become a taller version of himself, but that would be admitting that he’s competing with Edward — who he’s teased for years for being short — to see who’s taller. I don’t see him changing his preferred form just to be taller than Ed.

Also, the only marked measurements on the height charts were at 150cm and 200cm, so I lined up those measurements to show the height difference, but you may have noticed that by season five, 150cm is somehow further from the ground than it was in season one, based on the length of Ed’s legs. All jokes aside, the reason all the characters are shorter than we would expect them to be today is because Arakawa-sensei used the average historical heights of people from the years FMA takes place. She really thought through every single detail. She’s a genius.

Also, sorry if you were hoping for Envy to have enough emotional maturity to actually show vulnerability, Anon. He may not be working for the bad guys anymore… but he’s still a mess.
