I was actually doing a full lil comic thing to reopen this blog and I didn't fuckin save it and now it's lost and now krita's being an ass so that's like killed my motivation

I'll try and answer some asks today, hopefully my style is better than it was before

Tips from an artist that used to hate art

Date everything bro

Keep all your drawings - instead of scribbling it out or rubbing it out or throwing it away, keep it and try and figure out what went wrong (also it boosts my self-confidence when I look back at old drawings and see how far I’ve come lol)

Have a support system - share your art with friends or (if you’re incredibly awkward like me) post it online and remember to tag it good so people can see it!

On the flipside, have people you can rely on to critisize your work - my little brother loves skulldragging my drawings which can be helpful for mistakes I can’t see lol

Watch videos goddamn - art challenges, scrawlrbox unboxings, speedpaints, equipment reviews (surround yourself with art shit boi)

If you really detest the things your hand makes, consider getting a drawing tablet (having undo did wonders for my art confidence lmao)

Know that no-one can pressure you to draw when you don’t want to or draw things you don’t want to draw - I really hated art at school bc all we were ever allowed to do was still lives

Consider doing art challenges even if you don’t show them to anyone just to get you to draw

If you notice you have trouble drawing a particular thing (like the dreaded hands), get a fuckton of references and practise drawing them! Unfortunately the main way to get better is just to practise my friend

Don’t feel bad for using references!!!! It’s not “cheating” unless you trace it and claim it as an original work

No matter how good you think you are at art, there is always someone who respects you and your work (trust me)

Most importantly, don’t forget to eat, sleep and stay hydrated! Healthy hands are happy hands!
