There I was, swinging through Earth-65 in all its over-stylized and janky glory, when I come around the corner to see you on the street. I and the others swing down and find a kid in a superhero costume, the eyes of their mask drooping with fatigue, but the instant we got your attention you looked up and were suddenly all energy, waving and stimming and saying hello at a million miles an hour.

I thought you were precious.

I also thought you were in no way prepared for the kind of stuff superheroes have to deal with. We were in the process of hunting down a reality-manipulating WMD, and you didn’t strike me as especially experienced. I’m sorry about that, Cyril--you’ve proven yourself a talented hero and what mistakes you have made you’ve learned from pretty quickly. But that was how I felt when I first met you.

We met for the first time at Spider-Con-- you were hugging the Gatekeeper when I first walked up, and we talked about our spider-arms and our hero names, both given and chosen. You were really enthusiastic about it all, which definitely kept the smile on my face while we talked. Honestly... you reminded me a lot of myself, back when I was starting out with all of the hero stuff. I think that was a part of how I knew you were someone I could trust.

The X-men Manor,Earth 42711a, We'd been on the mission together but this was the first time we had chance to just sit. You dozing off on that couch while Rose and Us ate brain jerky. Not going to lie it was about then when we realised where we were fitting in. And apparently that was as a Dad friend. Thanks Cyril, genuinely.

So, I haven't been active lately. Thats mostly because... I've been recovering.

A new villain showed up in New York. ...IT was wreaking havoc in Queens. It was half-human, half... I don't even know. Its human half was... they looked to be in pain, lifeless. Like the monstrous side was a parasite.

I did my best to save as many people as possible - luckily no one died - but that... thing, took a BITE out of my arm. A BITE. I'm gonna do my best to find a picture of it, to show you the horror, but it's gonna be hard to find.

Whoever - whatever - it was, as soon as I showed up it was gunning for me and yelling my name. It's angry at me, and I'm not sure why.

Anyways, I've been recovering and staying off social media while my arm heals. I'm really tired, physically and emotionally.

Ill be accepting asks, to make up for lost time.

Ouch, I’m really sorry. You have my sympathies there, dude, in this business it seems to be an unfortunate inevitability that people end up gunning for ya. Often for reasons outside of your control.
