are there any things you miss from and before the war?

I don’t think there’s anything either of us miss from during the war. Except… well. Cliff and Tailgate maybe count. Before the war I’d say it was mainly people, too. Friends. The femme I always shared shifts with at work, my housemates, my neighbour a door down from me who kept coming round to offer us homemade energon treats. And I don’t know what happened to any of them once the fighting broke out. I talk about oil baths and the holovids I used to watch, but they don’t really compare.

My trine. Even more so, my trine from before the war, when we weren’t harangued by protocols and constantly worrying about our next missions, and coordinating them. As Arcee said, there’s not much else that matches up.

There's a Skyfire in your universe? What are they like? Did Starscream know them before the war?

Yes, Skyfire’s returned to Cybertron with the Autobots’ occupation of it, and yes, he was a friend of mine before the war. We studied together, and he took up a post in Vos near the council’s citadel so we remained in touch afterwards too. However, when the factions started to form we disagreed rather strongly over which was going about things the right way. We parted ways after that, and his arrival back here was the first time I’d seen him since then.

He’s always been amicable enough, if a little haphazard and sometimes overly trusting. Though he doesn’t extend the latter to me any more, it would seem.

So why are you guys sharing a blog? Arcee doesn't trust Starscream to have his own and not terrorize the humans, or something?

It was supposed to just be my blog in the first place. Then Starscream found out about it. He pretended not to be interested even though he really was - and we weren’t about to let him have unsupervised access to communications when he first showed up here.

I wouldn’t have wanted my own blog anyway, had I been allowed. It’s a mere curiosity - not something I’m particularly invested in.

Okay, Starry... I've a question: When you killed off Cliffjumper, you did because you where jelaous of him? Or because he teased you calling you ol' Meggs' server? Just wondering.

Firstly, I strongly object to that nickname, fleshling. And secondly - why in Cybertron’s name would I be jealous of Cliffjumper?! He was an enemy - and an especially irritating one at that - and I dealt with him accordingly.

There may also have been the matter of that unresolved incident back in Kaon… but I can assure you that I was acting purely to further my faction’s advantage in the war.

Favourite songs and/or pastimes?

My preference for music was entirely Cybetronian, and most of that was lost during the war. Even if I told you the names of my favourites, you won’t have heard of them. I doubt you’d even understand them. 

As to pastimes… I used to dabble in the sciences, before the matter of command became too time-consuming, and though i’ve yet to be allowed to rekindle that interest, I’m at least permitted to read about the subject.

Well I don’t blame Perceptor for wanting you away from his lab. 

Nor do I, in all honesty, given his temperament. But I thought Skyfire might’ve objected more strongly to my exclusion.

Anyway - sparring’s a hobby for me, and sometimes I’ll get involved if someone’s started up with lobbing. I’m not much use, though. Too small. I guess I kinda like going driving by myself, too, just to look at the progress we’re making rebuilding this place.

I was never really that big on music before the war. But some of the humans’ stuff’s okay. Miko introduced me to Joan Jett, so her songs would be on the list. I like rock music in general, but mostly the older stuff.

what did you guys do before the war?

I was a courier, though that didn’t last long before the war broke out. When I was really young, I remember being kinda annoyed cause I’d wanted to work as a teacher instead - but they told me I couldn’t, because I wasn’t intellectual class. I think I had a bit too much of a grudge on the caretaker who told me, after that.

Started young with the vengefulness, I see.

Hmph. I myself was a councillor in Vos. Not quite on the High Council, however. I was close, but the war broke out before I could make that last leap, and I soon found myself in command of quite a different establishment.

Is there anything you two agree on?

We agree that there’s been too much focus on just reviving the planet and sorting the newsparks out, and not on catering for the refugees who’ve returned.

And that there are better ways to be going about rebuilding as it is. I’ve made several suggestions.

How's the rebuilding of Cybertron going? Have you guys (that's meant to refer to all the Autobots, not you two specifically) found any newsparks yet? Thanks for answering!

Well, we’ve made loads of progress since I was last on here. I’ve been posted out near the Sonic Canyons for the past eight months or so, so communications were patchy and there definitely wasn’t time for this blog. We’re scoping out the south of the planet by now - branched out from Iacon - and lookng at rebuilding Vos.

And about time, too. To answer your other question: yes, there’s been one or two fluctuations in the Well that produced batches of newsparks. I’m not entirely certain of the details, however - updates were sporadic when we were in the south, and my captor didn’t see fit to share everything with me even then.  Hopefully now we’ve returned things will be different, though I don’t expect much change.

Don’t take everything he says to heart, by the way. He’s not been classed as a prisoner for months, but he’s bitter cause nobody trusts him enough to give him anything important to do.

I am not bitter, thank you very much! Merely… resentful that my talents are being ignored. And as you said, it’s been the best part of a year. I would have thought the open hostility would’ve died down by now, but no such luck.

What's the best and worst part about living with each other?

I’d hardly describe our arrangement that way, but the worst part is undoubtedly the frankly demeaning restraints that have been placed upon me - both physically and otherwise. I’m not sure how the Autobots expect me to get anything done when I’m so restricted!

If there’s a silver lining to any of this, it’s that I’m at least reasonably safe from the Predacons here.

I think ‘Scream’s just demonstrated the worst bit for me: he never stops bitching.

I should have expected the insect of the Decepticons would choose to align himself with pests just like himself. And 'allies'? Don not flatter yourself, Starscream. We were unsavory coworkers at best. I do not wish you near me anymore than I usually would, but... desperate times equal desperate, humiliating measures.

You're hardly in a position to be criticising my choice of allegiance, Soundwave. Those pests' human comrades were enough to trap you in the Shadowzone, if I remember correctly - I would've thought that was humiliating enough. Regardless, if it will put an end to your nagging: there have been reports of Shockwave being sighted near Protihex. I'd suggest contacting him for assistance.

So, Starscream, you're getting cozy with an Autobot while /I'm/ trapped in some hellish limbo of non-existence. It's not like I wanted to be rescued anyway.

For the last time, we are not - oh, never mind. Nobody seems to listen to me about that, for some reason. And even if I wanted to rescue you (which I most assuredly do not), Soundwave, I couldn't. I have a tentative peace agreement with the Autobots at present, and seeking to free one of my former allies from the shadowzone won't win me any favours.

What, just as a thing on its own? I don't think it really works like that - I mean, it depends who you're with and what they're like. It's nice, I guess, but only if you like the person you're doing it with. Anon, I think you'll find that this classes as a probing question, and as such I refuse to answer.

Does Megatron know about you sneaking off with an Autobot, Starscream? >.>

I am not ‘sneaking off’ with her! She is my captor! This decision was entirely out of my servos, you insolent fleshling, and even if Megatron knew I doubt he’d have much to say on the subject. He was last seen wandering the moons in the throes of some existential crisis or other - I personally hope he encounters Airachnid up there.

… Don’t tell Arcee I insulted you. I’d rather not lose what few privileges I’m permitted.

We’ve not been here long, so we haven’t actually spoken to any alternates yet - but Starscream got bored yesterday and discovered a few blogs. He’s kinda slagged off about what happened to one of his.

Slagged off is putting it mildly. He ended up as a disembodied spark, and his blog’s been abandoned, so Primus knows what’s become of him! The Predacons from his universe probably returned to finish the job. And to think that the same fate could have befallen me…
