Beautiful Memories Q&A, a series I started translating in 2021 and finally finished earlier this year. This is a series of mini-interviews printed on the back of novelty cards distributed at the AGF 2020 pop-up shop. There were 22 cards in total, one of each idol as a child and the other recreated as adults. I grouped the translations by senior/junior units.

Ophelia glanced down as she felt his soft and warm lips against her forehead. She smiled slightly as a light blush dusted her cheeks. She was happy to be able to see him again however she knew this would be a challenge to try and hide their relationship but she was up for it. " Maybe we could meet here since this seems secretive enough." She stated as she looked around her. She shivered slightly as she then shuffled closer to Tokiya. " W-we can always look for another place if this isn't enough." She added as she snuggled herself against him so she kept warm. She glanced to the side slightly " y-your coat wasn't enough." She stuttered.

“It’s not that this place isn’t enough. It’s beautiful; that’s why I brought you here.”

He pulled her closer, “But I’d like to take you to other places too. Places you want to go to. New places we can explore together. Places that are warmer,” he added with a small smile, “I can’t imagine it’s going to stay warm for very much longer. It would probably be very pretty in the winter, but it’ll be very cold,”

She nodded at what he was saying as she rubbed her thumb against his hand. She looked down to see a text on her phone as her eyes widened at the news on her phone. She looked up at Tokiya " u-umm I think I should be going. " she sighed. " A scandal has come out...a dating one." She said as she gulped. She ran a hand through her hair as she was starting to look stressed.

She took a deep breath looking at the article. " great...this is just lovely." She says sarcastically as she placed the phone down and tightens her grip on her hug like to give herself comfort. Her eyes widen " what if they try to dig into the rest of Moonlight...I could be next." She looks down as she tries not to get herself panicked. " and here I thought everything was fixing itself." She mumbled

His smile faded, “What? A dating scandal?”

His mind was racing; who could it be? He tensed when she mentioned Moonlight. A scandal this early could end that girl’s career and put a spotlight on the rest of the group. Their whole group dynamic would be thrown off while they tried to adjust to losing a member.

“It’ll be alright,” he said quickly. He reached out to hug her but stopped a placed a hand on her shoulder instead, “Who is it?” he asked gently.

Ophelia looks up to him as she tried to comfort herself by snuggling her head against his chest. " Jaesoo...with a Heavens member." She said with a sigh. She looked down as she was trying to get through her emotions. " I-I thought she would know better. She has had more experience then the whole of Moonlight combined." She said as she gulped.

She sighed " I don't want to lose my career but I don't want to lose you either." She said softly. She cared about Tokiya he was the one that cared for her especially in her most desperate times. " I don't want to lose you." She mumbled softly as she held his hand and interlaced his fingers with hers. She knew that rumors would be on a roll now and she was worried about what else could be hidden.

She knew that either way her group was in trouble. Even if she was quiet, her group would still be in trouble no matter what. " Part of me is wondering if I should even care. I'm stuck either way." She said solumly. She sighed as she looked up at Tokiya and looked into his eyes. All she wanted in this moment was his comfort. His warmth made her feel slightly more calm. As she moved some of his hair from his face.

“Jaesoo?” Tokiya was surprised. He had heard her name long before Mooblight was formed. She had been with the academy for quite a while, “You aren’t kidding... I knew of her before Moonlight was formed. What was she thinking?”

He paused for a moment, then looked down at Ophelia, “I say that when I know EXACTLY what she was thinking...” he admitted quietly. He felt her slip her hand into his, and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. 

“All eyes will be on Moonlight and Heavens now,” Tokiya said, “But I... I-I don’t want to lose you either. Surely... Surely we can find someway to keep it a secret for now. Maybe it won’t have to be forever,”

He pulled her closer when she mentioned being stuck, “You will have to be careful, and so will I. We can make this work... I want this to work,”

Ophelia had remembered of how Jaesoo was once a kpop trainee before training with Heavens. She remembered how Jaesoo had talked about how she jumped from company to company. Part of her wasn't surprised about this happening since Jaesoo had known about Heavens even before she joined Shining Agency. Part of her was kinda surprised though since she thought that with Jaesoos professionalism that she would have even put one thought into how this would have damaged her carreer. However Ophelia knew she should have been one not to judge since she had shoved herself in a similar spot.

She snuggled up against him once she was pulled closer. " Are you sure you want to continue? I know I hate to ask that question however...I-I don't want to hurt your career." She asked as she then gulped and nervously looked away from him. " I would rather you not hurt your career for...Someone like me." She adds. She didn't like to admit it but she hated saying that however she knew it would have hurt her more if she had to see his career fall apart because of her. " I want to see you happy and if that means losing me...then I guess that's the risk I would have to take." She says as she tries not to tear up.

She wanted to make sure that at least he kept his career. Compared to her he had a lot more to lose since he had gone through so much to be part of Starish. " You risked so much to be apart of Starish compared to me. I have just started my career so I have a lot less to lose if it ends up effecting me. " Ophelia said solemnly.

Tokiya tried to think of where he had heard Jaesoo’s name before Moonlight, but he couldn’t place it. He was pulled from his thoughts when she felt him snuggle against him.

“Yes,” he replied instantly when she asked if he wanted to continue. Of course he did. It wasn’t even a question worth asking... which surprised him. He NEVER took risks like this. His career meant everything to him, but maybe everything could mean more than one thing. 

“What do you mean, for someone like you?” he asked. Her lack of self esteem worried him. She was talented, beautiful, kind. Why couldn’t she see it herself?

“Losing you would not make me happy,” he voice was firm, “And it’s true, it took a long time to get where I am. That doesn’t mean you haven't been training just as hard as I have. This... could also affect you. We’d both be risking a great deal,”

Ophelia looked at him with a surprised looked as she blinked a couple of times in surpirse. "B-But you would lose everything?" She retorted. She didn't want to sound like she didn't want this relationship because she did however she hated the idea of him risking his own dream because of it. She didn't like being a burden to people and she was now feeling like she was risking Tokiya's career.

"You would be risking you career for me. I feel like I'm being...selfish to rip you away from your group and what you have worked so hard for...but, I still want to be with you. " she looked up as she met his gaze. She moved her hand up to caress his cheek. " Either way I feel like I would feel horrible." She adds as she takes a deep somnly sigh.

" I think maybe we could both deal with this however...how would we convince Shining if something about us came out. I have a feeling that after this they are not going to care who they go after in Moonlight next....you know more then anyone what journalists are like." She said with an sad yet awkward laugh as she tried to lighten the mood a little.

She was right. He could very well lose everything. That being said, it wouldn’t be the first time. He had come very close to losing his career before; he had even come close to losing his place at Shining Academy due to his lack luster performance. He’d nearly lost being an idol altogether, with his agent wanting him to focus on acting instead of the thing he love the most.

He didn’t want to lose something else he loved in an attempt to please others again.

“It wouldn’t be the first time,” he affirmed aloud, “I’d feel just as selfish, especially since you’re at the start of your career and doing well. Just as you say, I… I also want to be with you.”

“We’ll have to think of how to approach this with Shining. We’d have to do it soon. You’re absolutely right about the journalists; they’ll devour this.” He pulled her into his arms, “I don’t want to walk away from this,”

She listened to him as she let out a soft smile as she felt loved that he wanted to bring her to such a beautiful place. She felt loved that he put the effort towards where he took her. She then blushed lightly as she thought about this moment she was having with him. " S-so... I guess this is a date?" She said as she looked down at her hands then looked up to meet his gaze.

She snuggled against him now feeling warmer. " Yeah, I have never really grown up in a cold climate. I had days where it was cold but those where few and far between." She stated. She pulled him closer to her as she laid her head against his chest. " H-have you been, working out more recently?" She asked as her blush darkened as she looked down.

It took him aback when she said that, but he didn’t know why. She was absolutely right and he didn’t know why the thought hadn’t crossed his mind.

“Yes, I... I would say this is a date,” he replied. He couldn’t believe it; this is not at all how he thought his day would go today.

He reached up to place a hand on her hair when she leaned against him, “Ah, worked out recently? I do... everyday if I can...” he replied, blushing.
