Did you ever meet the previous Aquarius(es)? If so, what did you think of them?
āWow... you're... tall..ā
Her voice caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting to see anyone in what I assumed to be some sort of hell.. Especially not a child.
The child was severely injured, I could only assume she was one of the victims of the attack. Someone I couldn't save... She couldn't have been older than twelve..
My voice cracked as my eyes watered and I spoke for the first time since my death, ā..Why are you here..? A child your age.. What could you have done to be denied into heaven...? You shouldn't... You shouldn't be here...ā
She gave me a look, one of confusion and wonder. She didn't answer me right away, but instead she glanced around at the vast amount of stars that made up the void we were standing in. āI've been here once before, you know. The first time I died.ā
ā...The first time...?ā I didn't think I heard her right, it didn't make sense at the time.
āThat's right,ā she nodded and let go of her injured arm as she walked forward and stopped next to me, āAlthough, the first time I was here, I was met by a cat who wasn't really a cat, but a deity ruling over the constellation of Aquarius.. I don't... see him this time though...ā
We stood in silence for a few moments, both of us lost in our own thoughts. She seemed to be looking for something, but I was having my own crisis and didn't pay her much mind. A deity? Why that wording? Was it not God? If not, then who was it? And how were they able to take the form of a cat? What is this place? Is this deity the true God? Was everything I was taught, believed in, and vowed a lie?
āOh.ā She broke the silence and brought my attention back to her, āI get it now. He's not here because.. this time I am the deity.ā She paused and motioned her hand towards me, āAnd you're the next in the line, my replacement.ā
The next few moments were a blur. She introduced herself as Tiamat, and began to explain that I was to become the next Aquarius, that I must have been chosen by whatever deity she had previously mentioned. She told me about the rest of the Zodiacs and how we were basically demigods, about my new duties... and about Anastasios...
Tiamat must have noticed how overwhelmed I was, as she tried to give me an encouraging pat on the back, but in doing so accidentally transferred the Aquarius Mark to me too soon.
She quickly panicked and apologized, saying I should have been able to choose where the mark was placed.. but she began to fade away, and soon I felt myself become solid once more, no longer in the void, but standing in the realm of the Zodiacs.
