Been working on doing some editing of aau fic !! (Specifically fixing typos, adding to/taking away from some descriptions, tweaks to dialogue, fixing some repetitive wording, made some things clearer etc etc just small things, nothing very extreme like prior edits (previous edits we’ve made usually being entire new scenes or rewritten sections) we usually do small edits like these every now and again but don’t announce it, but I’m deciding to talk about it this time just because of having art edits to share from it + I was trying to be very thorough with the editing! (Glad I did it because ended up catching a lot of cases of soundalike words being used on accident Oops,,)

one change I was a BIT saddened by but ultimately found it needed for clarity was changed the dwellers dialogue from this to ‘this’ because while I loved that their dialogue was raw italics to mimic how thoughts are shown in description (to show their dialogue is being heard mentally and not out loud spoken) I changed it so there’d be less mix up of dweller dialogue and thoughts, but I at the least got to have the compromise of using ‘ instead of “ so it would still have that sense of separation from regular spoken dialogue ! Win lose :)

finished the prologue and am currently about to comb through the main fic (scary (big wordcount) wish me luck,,,) I’ll announce when that’s done! I don’t think it’ll get the same level of editing and probably the edits will be moreso to dialogue/characterization? Though if memory serves one of us actually did that not long ago (as in going through to fix characterization things) so maybe I won’t have as much work to get as I’m thinking (the prologue had cases of this! Scenes I knew ahead of time I wanted to change or add to had already been fixed or done in a previous editing spree hehe,,)

Anyway as you can see I ended up tweaking the prologues artworks in the process :)€ I especially think the second is VERY night and day much better and closer to the original intention we were going for with it! (THOUGH I want to fully redraw the third one of MJ, I prefer the colors of the original pass, but the edit version I made is darker/more blue to match up with the lighting of the edited version of the second prince on the wall one, but the idea of redrawing it is for another day (rip to her paw pads sorry it just made the piece feel less serious to me <\3)

Snatchers prologue art got no edits because it was already good to me no notes 🫶 lols
