Bein’ an Elekid was pretty fun I guess. Kishiko, Azar and I all lived in the Brass Tower before it burnt. We spent our days playing in the halls, the cool breeze flowing the windows, the chimes ringing outside…People from all over would come in hopes of being blessed by Isas, and would leave food and treats for him and the residents in hopes of gaining his favor. It was a pretty easy life huh, Kishiko? I think Azar would say the same, wherever she went off to…

Geist: So, you can't see well?? I guess with a small runt like you there'd be tons of predators interested in you for an easy snack. Ever get into some wild situations?

The little fennekin chuckled a little bit at the gourgeist’s question, reminiscing on old encounters. “The pokemon in this forest know who my mama is, and no one wants to anger my mama,” said Artemis. “Plus, if I’m around, my sisi is usually nearby, she protects me most of the time, other times it’s my nana who keeps watch.”

Rustling of leaves grabs the attention of the fennekin, turning their head and clicking at the source of the noise. “Okay, Diana, if that’s you, you better stop that!”

Lenox@Artemis: Hello young one. If you don't mind my asking, do you have any parents per chance?

“Of course I have parents!” exclaimed Artemis, their tail swishing happily behind them. “I’ve got a mama delphox, a nana miltank, a papa meowstic, and an uncle lucario!”

Their ears perked up a little after finishing their sentence. They looked behind and started clicking, trying to see if they could find the shape of another pokemon behind them. “There’s also my sisi, who I’m supposed to be waiting for here,” the fennekin explained.”I can’t find her anywhere, though. I think she’s hiding from me.”

Sharpe@Artemis: So, kid. Have you always been blind? I mean, I know a lot of people are born blind, but, yeah.

Artemis clicked, trying to find the exact source of the question, but couldn’t quite precisely find it like they could with most pokemon. There was the smell of electricity in the air though. Probably a rotom.

“Well, I was born with completely functional vision,” explained the fennekin, “but over time my vision has slowly been taken over by clouds. I’m not completely blind, though! I can still see vague shapes with my eyes and I can echolocate a little bit, but that’s the extent of my vision right now.”

Juliet@Artemis: Sooo, you're visually impaired huh? That doesn't keep you from doing anything fun right? Like playing tag or hide-and-seek?

The fennekin tilted their head at the question, while also letting out a few clicks with their tongue. It was definitely a meowth they were talking to.

“Well, I can hide really well when playing hide and seek,” explained Artemis, “I can’t seek as well, though, for uh...” They waved their paw in front of their clouded eyes. “...obvious reasons. I’m an expert tracker, though! I can track a mareep from all the way across the forest!”

I think it’s better to save it for situations where it’d be needed more.

“No no no no no no! It’s not that I don’t think you’re cool looking, it’s that I’m visually impaired! I’m not entire sure what your shape is supposed to be, but I’m sure it’s cooler than a regularly looking lopunny.”

Florentine: O-Oh hello, I'm Florentine, do you live alone out here? I imagine your coat would make it hard to hide from predators wouldn't it?

The little fennekin darted circles around Florentine, clicking their tongue all the while, getting a good image in their mind of who and what they were talking to. 

After a while, Artemis sat in front of the ponyta. “Of course I don’t live alone out here!” they exclaimed excitedly. “There’s tons of pokemon that live out here! I don’t actually have any predators that live out here. I mean, there’s a battery of rotom that live out here, but they don’t seem to eat a whole lo--”

A thump interrupted their train of thought, Artemis started clicking nervously. 

“It was just a berry falling, we’re good.”

A Small Stumble

It’s a peaceful day. The sun is shining through the leaves of a mysterious forest. Calls of various pokemon can be heard resounding through the trees, as tailow and fletchling chirp and converse.

A clicking noise is heard among this din. Click, click, click, goes a small pokemon, attempting to wriggle its way through the brush. With a small “Oof!” a silver fennekin appears from the forest. The first thing that’s noticed about this fennekin, aside from the abnormal silver coat, is that it has clouded eyes, a constant overcast in its vision. The next thing that’s noticed is the way it clicks its tongue every few steps it takes. Rather peculiar.

The fennekin stops, and sniffs the air. It then makes a particularly loud click with its tongue to locate what it smells. In the distance is a small, dark, pear-shaped berry with a question mark on it. Enigma berry. 

“Are you going to eat that or what?” says the fennekin. “I just ate, so you can have it if you want. I’m Artemis by the way. Nice to meet you!”
