They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
((So. Uh. I was going to work on replies for you all, last day of finals, hoorah as well, get stuff done and all that. But then I ran across this lovely yordle here, and I thought. Hmm. I tool around on guitar.
So I did this instead. Lyrics of course by Cavatina, with melody and guitar by mun. I promise I’ll get to writing soon! Edit: Whoops. Didn’t unmute the vocals. Should be fixed))
(( Oh my gosh heart-oftheblizzard did an amazing cover of Lady of Love poem I wrote awhile back. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Please give it a listen!
I originally wrote it to be interpreted in two different ways: as a poem to a person someone once loved, and may still love, however no longer returns the feelings due to an abusive relationship. It has a second meaning which I regard it to be its original: that the man has lost hope and interest in the things that once gave him warmth - basically abusing or rushing the things he once loved in an effort to get more out of it.
“You’ve taken back the beauty you once given me” implies the glow, the spark one gets when they are involved in an activity they love, may it be reading, drawing, creating, or doing mathematics… basically the spark of passion. We all have one, though in varying stages of discovery. In the poem he loses sight of what he once loved, but when he realizes what he’s done it’s too late.
I can’t get over how the exact feeling and emotion behind the song was perfectly done…;~; It’s perfect aahhh thank you <333 ))
The woman was familiar to the Yordle, but the song was not. When the old man took over, Cavatina could feel it: a sense of… what was it? Command? Serenity? When the old man spoke to the others of the song title, the two nodded, and knew. But the Yordle was unfamiliar of the language, the title, the song. All of it was new. When the old man instructed her to listen, she could only obey. There was something. Something magical was about to happen.
The veena started the melody, then was joined by the ghatam, then the mridangam. At first, they felt odd together. They didn’t quite fit, causing Cavatina’s ears to twitch slightly. How odd, they felt out of tune, almost? But no, this was the song as the musicians intended it, she was sure. There could not possibly be any mistakes, not with the level of stillness in the old man’s poise of absolute command. Every hand, every finger movement from all three of the native musicians were intentional. Every breath, calculated. The three of them together held some kind of unified power that Cavatina had rarely seen, a power that which only those in perfect harmony and understanding seemed to have.
A wondrous note, but not from the musicians. To her surprise, the silver one had begun to sing. A haunting note, and yet… The Yordle’s eyes widened. Her voice seemed to unite the music together. She couldn’t help but to feel this was an ancient Ionian song, perhaps only preserved through magical or strict traditional lessons. It was far different than any Ionian song she’d heard of before, and strange. As a bard, Cavatina felt compelled to join in, and help sing this hauntingly beautiful poem about the moon, its history, its legacy… but she knew better. She stayed her hands and her body swayed with the music, as did the rest of the crowd.
Speaking of… Cavatina looked at the rest of the crowd as the four performed. Older ones in the audience, she noticed, were nodding or still, some with their heads swaying. Some of the younger ones in the audience seemed fidgety, some of them were enthralled. Most of the native Ionans seemed to have a connection with the music somehow.
The pots were hit faster as the woman sung, and as the performance neared its end, the veena more haunting and the drum heavier. The old man joined the woman’s voice, and although his old voice was seemed to only be harmonizing, the unity of their voices added an oddly rich texture, and as the song ended they sung the last phrase in perfection synchronicity. Hands brought together, several Ionians stood up in standing ovation. An elderly woman wiped tears from her eyes.
“Heh heh. Thank you, thank you. Song called, ‘Prayer of Moon, Stars and Sky’, by Master Gurkiran. 1,000 years old song, very hard to play,” the old man chuckled as the applause died down. “Story of moon, and duty. And of course, love. Special guest, is old friend,” the old man smiled and gestured at Aira, his eyes twinkling like stars.
“That was amazing,” Cavatna breathed, “I’ve never heard anything like that before! What does the last phrase mean? A-and the… uh, the second part, sounded like something about the moon over the water? I don’t know that much Ionian, but I just… what does it mean?”
How far away do you live from Von-mun? And have any advice for long distance relationship?
I live in Florida and Vonmun lives in Nevada (but he’s about to move back to California). If google maps is to be believed, we live 2,740ish miles apart from each other.I haven’t been on my blog, even though I’ve wanted to be, because I cherish what little face-to-face time I get with him. Tumblr and my Sivir blog will always be here, but he won’t. The only reason I have time to write this now is because he’s down the hall, asleep in my bed. I met him in this community, and to an extent (even though this place enrages me pretty frequently) I have this place to thank for that.I know this is really out of character for this blog, but I guess this will pass for a munday question. Here’s my LDR advice.
Talk to each other every day. Even if it’s only for a few minutes. It may sound excessive, but you’re already x amount of miles away from your significant other, so keeping up with each other isn’t as easy as it is when you live close. Tell each other about your day, whether or not it was a good or bad day…listening to the little mundane things helps erase the distance a little…at least for me it does.
Be honest. You should never have to hide anything from one another. LDRs are harder to maintain than normal relationships, so communication and honesty is even MORE crucial. If you aren’t honest, the foundations will crumble. Be honest about your expectations in a relationship. Be honest about your past, your quirks, your intentions, what you look like, etc etc. It’s a pain in the ass to wait for long to see your significant other face to face and for one (or both of you) to find out you were completely misled.
Make time for “dates”. Whether this be turning on your camera and chatting, watching movies together, or playing games together.
Try to save money to eventually see each other. Part of what keeps me going is planning the next time I see him. I sometimes go months at a time WITHOUT being able to hold him and kiss him, but counting down the time makes it easier to hold off on those urges.
Get each other little gifts. I know money is kinda low for a lot of people here, but “care packages” feel nice to get when you’ve been lonely for so long.
When you ARE together, feel free to try to “make it count” if you want. Go on fancy dates or do whatever…but honestly….cuddling up in bed with some snacks and just watching TV can feel just as good as any of your other fancy plans. You never know how badly you want physical affection until they leave and you don’t have it anymore.
Send personal items with that care package. A shirt you’ve worn, a class ring, a yearbook. Maybe some film photos.
Webcams. Don’t need to say more.
Not everyone is a gamer but planning activities to do together is good. Video games, maybe movies, online pictionary, cards etc.
When you talk to people about your plans, don’t say “I have a date with my online boy/girlfriend.” The word “online” suggests a split from reality and the computer, and may indicate you may not be taking the relationship seriously. Because of this, other people may not feel like they should take the relationship seriously and may even look down on you for it.
The statement “I have a date with my boy/girlfriend.” (without any prefixes), helps solidify the relationship and make things all the more real for you and your partner. And if people ask, well…. you don’t need to tell anyone any details about your private/personal life. ;)
When you do meet, don’t feel pressured to immediately have sex. You may even choose not to have sex at all on your first visit. Sex is deeply intimate; get to know your physical partner first. It’ll make the moment - if you do choose to have safe sex - that much better. And remember, sex is NOT “supposed to hurt”, and the woman is NOT “supposed to bleed”. Be open with your partner if you feel any pain at all, as pain may indicate that something is wrong, or a sign of a bigger unknown health issue. Remember you can stop at any time.
// Okay so I solved one drama. Family drama not solved. However I am having a massive allergic reaction to something, don't know what. Lots of rashes and itching. It's gone from my torso to my feet over the past couple days. No I'm not gonna die it's just really annoying and I have trouble sleeping because constant itching.
tho tbh if I end up starting the zombie apocalypse I'm cool with that.
//first my home city was bombed during a marathon. We lost 3 and hundreds of innocent onlookers who were just cheering on runners were injured in horrific life altering ways. A 4th was murdered off sight in cold blood. During the witch hunt to find the bombers, we were told to stay inside until they were caught.
Now my larger community was shot up while they were in a safe zone. We lost 50. 53 more were wounded with massive bullets designed to do tremendous damage to flesh…
Idk… Just do me a favor… If you can, do some research into who we lost today. Carry a name or two with you… We get so caught up in who did it but we don’t ever know who we lost and… Idk… A lot of what I saw with the marathon and how it was covered is happening with this incident… So much fear… So much hate…
There were actually a total of 49 victims - the 50th being the shooter himself as police clarified. You can read more about the victims here.
Despite the tragedy, over 600 people showed up to give blood. We have tweets, posts, etc, pouring in from everywhere to support the LGBT community. This is great. There was a time where we couldn't even speak about our sexuality or gender identity. But now we have legalized same sex marriage. Transgender folks being allowed to use the bathroom of their choice is being discussed in courts if law. The fight isn't over, but we're winning. People with hatred in their hearts like the shooter’s will pass, and be replaced with people, who, like the supporters who showed up to give blood, support the community and not only accept us but are willing to help us. by LGBT folks have come a long way.
"The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish." - Charlie Chaplin
If anyone wants to help the victims, a gofund.me page has been made. Check it out if you want to donate.
The Yorick rework is coming closer and closer. Many wait for it and I think everybody is excited to see what Riot is going to do about his gameplay kit and honestly so am I. However, I also know that Yorick is one hell of a rework, big in scale, same as Sion as far as we know. With sion's rewor
I made a post on the forums finally about the thing I posted recently about. If possible please upvote this/bring attention to it. I really want Riot to see this!
I posted a comment, I found Jaredan’s answer about a champ from Shadow Isles. I have a hunch it’s about Yorick. At first I was happy, thinking, “yeah, they’ll keep Yorick a nice guy after all”, then I remembered they also said that the new Xerath, who revels in inflicting pain to others and wants to enslave everyone, was sympathetic. I don’t know in what world those writers live.
Xerath’s story is far from being complete after all. You can’t lock a somewhat complex character up for thousand years, his only company being some dumb croc and expect him to come out as a nice guy.
Originally Xerath was a good guy, son of a slave who befriended young Azir and who did literally everything to help his sworn brother, even if it would mean forbidden knownledge and breaking taboos. All he wanted was that his friend didn’t fall victim to the mechanisms of shuriman royality - because if another son was born, Azir was most likely to meet a very gruesome end as his father despised him.
He’s not a villain hungry for power for the very sake of that power. Xerath wanted this power to protect what was most dear to him. However, it was only when Azir seemed to forget his promise of freedom, that has started him using this power for his own matters.
Yorick was always kind of neutral, and probably will be always neutral. The shadow isles are one giant graveyard. And who makes sure that everything on the graveyard works as intended? The gravedigger. Karthus wants a new church? Go call Yorick. The drain of the castle is clogged again? Call Yorick. Thresh forgot the keys to one of his cells? Call Yorick. Some stupid Purifiers left light-bullet marks all over the place? Call Yorick.
He’s probably a mix of jaintor and (probaly somewhat reluctant) lawforce in one. But he’s not really a driving force in the isles, and he’s not making the rules either. He’s just making sure everything works fine.
Xerath had evil villain potential. Yorick… well, not so much. He’s just some dude, doing his job.
((I am not talking about how Yorick currently is but what I was afraid Yorick could become if the rework takes that direction. Overall Xerath is also different in the fact that in the end he did turn towards a side that was contraproductive in the eyes of many, leading to the downfall of a big empire and everybody living in it in a very bad state.
Yorick is the dude who does his job. That is who he always was, only now he cannot remember it. he is frustrated because he forgot why he does it. Still all he wants is a purpose. “I want to remember and be remembered”
ANYWAYS, Update Riot response in the thread :D Yorick is not seen as some kind of monster or villain character! :DD MAKES ME HAPPY!))
