"Strange... Each time I speak your name my heart aches and I can't bring myself to breathe normally."
Glance away, glance back. A debate of truths and lies marching in his shattered heart. A slow gulp swallowing down the lump in his throat as heart-wrenching pain finds its way to his fragmentary remains of grace. ❛ ᵗᵉˡˡ ʰⁱᵐ ❜ — it demands, ❛ᵗᵉˡˡ ʰⁱᵐ ⁿᵒʷ❜ — another demand asking Michael to expedite to let everything be known; however, his rational mind gives it the brush-off. ❛ ᴵ ᶜᵃⁿ’ᵗ ❜ , Dean’s been through enough, what he no longer knows won’t hurt him — at least not as terribly as it seems to be presently. He needs to his hopes — must keep his hopes — that Dean will eventually find contentment, heartsease, then his happy ending, and under no circumstances should any alteration be made. Michael has made peace with his firm decision, no matter how hard & painful it’s going to be for him, to remain broken, uncompleted, plus losing air for his delicate mortal for the rest of eternity. ❛ It’s fine, it’s going to be fine❜ — the Archangel tells himself despite yet another tear at his already-shattered grace, ❛ ᵖᵉᵃᶜᵉ, ᵖᵉᵃᶜᵉ, ᵖᵉᵃᶜᵉ ❜ — a numbing chant, he must has faith that they both will find it, or that only Dean will is enough. For him, Dean’s safety & happiness is enough. It’s the only consolation Michael will ever need.
❝ My deepest apologies for what you’ve experienced with my presence for your aching heart. If only it were explainable, I would tell you. However, fear not, Dean. Should you need, I can at least provide help in my power to have you healing, to keep that from happening, and I shall help you heal no matter what it costs. ❞
