The Assistant's Work is Never Done!

Just a trip down memory lane

After that Dark cameo in ISWM, well, it ripped me back to this blog, and how much I miss it sometimes. Anyone who knows me from this time knows that this was a big part of my life when it was active, but, I've moved on. Surprisingly, this blog is one of the few things I've done that I look back on fondly, so, I figured I pay the monochromatic drama queen a visit, with the help of a friend, of course~

“Are you sure you’re ready for this?”

“Bird’s gotta leave the nest at some point!”

“I’m serious Shop, you’ve lived here for a long while, you, know it won’t be the same without you here.”

“I know, but I couldn’t have stayed forever, as much as I wish I could...”

Dark closed his eyes for a moment, nodding to himself before kneeling down to Shop. “Then, I wish you the best, where ever you go. I’ll leave a window open for you; that way you never feel as though you have to sneak in again.” He added with a sly smirk, before watching the girl take off, standing on the steps of the manor until he was sure he couldn’t see her anymore...

So, here we are. It is with a heavy heart that I come to tell you all that I am discontinuing TLA. I still love what I’ve made here, though I may or may not delete the blog, but my drive to create for this has been dried up for, quite a while, and I can no longer force myself to draw for it. 

That being said! I am in the process of using some of the core concepts of this blog and just in general using what I’ve learned through this experience to make something new; it’s something fairly personal to me, but if you follow my other blogs, you’ll see it soon enough~ (hell, maybe there’ll even be some reference to this over there, who knows)

OOOOOOHHH THEY GON FUSE?!

Shop’s wing instinctively swung out in front of Terri, as if to defend her. “I wa-was just telling her about it!! I, I mean, we, don’t even know if it was a one time thing or if it could happen again!”

Needless to say, both girls were very much flustered as they sat in awkward silence.

“Yeah! Their name is Shark! I guess from what I’ve been told, they’re pretty nice, which is cool considering this is Dark we’re talkin’ about.... Terri? You ok there?”

“Y-yeah, yeah, why wouldn’t I be? That just, sounds wild...”

“For sure!” Shop mused for a bit. “Wonder if we could fuse? I mean, if I was the one who caused it, who knows!”

Terri simply nodded, trying to hide how red her face was by turning away and looking for something to distract her.

Do you think Terri is still a devil? I was also curious on how she was doing during before, y’know, when dark was a doll? (Your art is so amazing I love it so much!!)

“Sorry I’m not the most cohesive storyteller!!”

“No no, goodness!” Terri exclaimed. “It all sounds so intense, I can’t blame you for not being able to recall it all!”

“You sure you don’t wanna talk about it? I’ve been the one talking this whole time!” Shop offered, finally starting to relax in Terri’s presence.

“No no, I’m sure. It’s been fairly boring anyway, managering and whatnot, nothing exciting like what you’ve been getting into, please do go on!!”

Dark has changed a lot hasn’t he..

“Shop is a dear friend of mine, wouldn’t you want to help make YOUR friends happy, and tease them a bit at the same time?”

He chuckles to himself, leaning against the wall. “Besides, Terri will be the one most capable of sympathizing with her, it only makes sense that she be here for her as she finishes recovering.”

“And this is the central dining room-” Dark mentioned as he walked in with a subtle, but genuine smirk, finding Shop quickly as she turned to him.

“Back already? Well I hope this person is ready to meet-!”

Stunned by surprise, Shop had no idea how to react to seeing Terri again, except to mutely return the small wave she had given in response to coming back. After a considerable amount of time had awkwardly past, Dark cleared his throat.

“I hope you don’t mind Terri staying with us for a bit. I’ve filled her in on everything, and, well I figured you would like some company who knows at least part of what you are going through~”

Shop.. I’m curious about this question.. you don’t have to answer, but do you think your relationship with dark has been different from the start?

“ABSOLUTELY!!” Shop cried out, feathers puffed up in defense and embarrassment.

“Sorry ‘bout yelling, but it’s for sure changed since the beginning, and definitely for the better I’d say, right bud?”

Dark looked up from his phone, “Hm- Oh, yes yes, of course, you’ve since gotten much more bearable~”

“Or maybe you just got a soft spot for me~” she teased, stepping towards the ego. “I saw that smirk though, what’s going on?”

“Nothing out of the ordinary, I was getting in contact with someone to help around here while I step out for a moment...”

“Oh! Well, ok? Will they be here in time for lunch? We could say hi together before you have to go!”

“Hmmm, I suppose I can stick around to do that, especially since they might need some help navigating around for a bit-”

“Oh!!! I could help them!! I’d love to if i can!”

Dark chuckled as he started making his way down the hall to the main doorway. “I’m sure they would appreciate the tour~”

Shop! Your wings are back! :D

“And with minimal damages it would seem! Doc did some scans and seems everything’s back in place, minus a teeny fracture, but we wrapped it up and I’m ok to go chill out! Just, can’t itch around it or flex the wing too much, not like I’m gonna be able to do much of anything anyway...”

Shop took a seat as Dark entered the room, tucking a phone away in his pocket. Shop perked up, determined not to let her sadness show, she was gonna do her best to be patient and get back to practicing her flying.

“Hey bud! just got done with another phone meeting or something?”

“Of sorts.” Dark answered bluntly. “How do you feel?”

“Eh, as good as I can, all things considered...”

“Well, that’s good, why don’t we get some food yes? I’m sure you’d like something in your system after such a long visit with Dr. Iplier..~”

Shop, does dark.... have a thing for you?

“Dunno how they’d feel about me in all honesty, but hey, a girl can dream...” Shop gets lost in her thoughts for the duration of the her check up with the Doc, who gave the nearby Dark a curious glance, in which he returned with a knowing shrug; his lips were sealed, knowing Shop would never live it down if he said anything prematurely, but thankfully so far this little bird seemed to have recovered ok, all that was left was her X-rays-

I’m just super curious... you don’t have to answer, but what was Dark’s reaction when he found out you were a size shifter... also I’m very sorry if the question was already asked I’m very new to this blog and I love it so much!

They’ve come a long way since then- 

But yes, he was very spooked bc she had decided to keep it secret for a while before she got fed up with getting pushed around so much, suddenly being shorter than someone who just outgrew you will usually make someone rethink their choices a little-

So shop.... I very glad you are back to normal! But, I have a question that’s been in the back of my head for awhile and didn’t resurface until dark’s spell wore off, the question is, are you normal size (ik ur a sizeshifter) and dark is giant or you are small and dark is average height. I hope i wasn’t too much of a bother with this... have a great day shop!

“I’ll have a good day after I get out of Doc’s office and into a cozy bed!! But to answer your question, I’m normal human size, and Dark’s a big ol boy~”

“Or conversely, I am the one who is average size, and you happen to be smaller~”

((Shop is 5′3′’ and Dark is roughly 22 feet tall, just saying XD))

So how your guys day been going so far?

“I’d say it’s going per the norm...”

“Dark pllleeeeaasssseee, I’m fine, I don’t want them inspecting my wings like crazy, I barely got flight time in on them!!”

“And if you want to up your times, we have to double check that you healed correctly, none of us exactly know how this works you know.”

how tall is Dark right now??? Shop's height/average human height or smaller??? sorry i feel like I need to visualise it haha :)

You could always use this as a learning experience, see what it's like to be in the opposite role and try and understand each other better???? Idk, if I could help I would!

Dark scoffed, “You assume I don’t try to understand her already?” He whispers, trying to make sure he let Shop sleep a bit. “But, you ARE right anon, this has been quite the learning experience...” 

The next morning, Shop wakes up to the smell of a home cooked breakfast, Dark waiting for her so they can talk over food, the events that had transpired.

After which, the two set off back home, Shop, for once, not looking back. She knew it would still be there when she needed, and she had a hunch that lead her to believe that Dark, and by extension, she, needed to go back to the manor to get back to their normal, not so normal life.

And sure enough, Marvin and Henrik were waiting for the two to come back to the cabin, despite Dark’s reservations about walking there while so much smaller than normal.
