"I was scared out of my mind. We were both young and had no idea what we were doing. I was afraid that every move she made would hurt her and the baby, so, yeah... I was a bit... I overreacted a lot. Heh. Everything was new to us, and while I felt like shitting my pants half the time, part of me was so humbled into becoming a father. Just the fact that I was part of the process in giving life. And to start a family with my best friend. There's no other way to describe it than awesome."

"When he came back... a lot of things were different. Though he was still the same Edward, his travels did mature him a bit, and I was really moving up in my career. Not only that, but we were much more serious about each other. We weren't shy about saying "I love you" anymore. We could announce our engagement publicly, or show affection in public without the embarrassment. Originally, we planned to stay engaged for a long time, like for years, but then we realized, what are we waiting for? We couldn't imagine ourselves with anybody else, especially after all we've experienced together. We ended up deciding to get married in November, which meant we had only a month to plan the wedding. It was so impulsive, but I have no regrets."

"I was furious when he returned. He only wrote me one letter and called me two times, but that wasn't nearly enough for six months. It became difficult to wait, and I became paranoid, so when he came back I pretty much slammed the door in his face. Two times. Then he went after me upstairs and tried to talk me down. I locked myself in my bedroom and when I wouldn't budge, he slid a ring under the door. I was so beside myself that I decided to open the door and as I looked down at Ed, who was lying on the floor with that goofy grin on his face."

I apologize for the long hiatus, guys! But now I'm graduated from high school & summer has begun so I'll have more time for you. ;)

"Whew. A long-ass time. It hasn't been since... our oldest was fifteen, maybe?"

"I let her deal. I gave her space, but I still let her know that I was there for her. Just my physical presence was enough. I would make sure that she didn't feel alone or isolated, and when she was ready, I'd listen."

"...I can empathize, I've lost a few people, too. Death is a difficult thing in life, and the older you get, the more you'll see it. That's just a fact. But you'll eventually stand up again because you've got two healthy, strong legs—put them to use. Death is not the end, it's the birth of something new and it'll make you appreciate life more and make you want to do more while you're still alive. I promise you that."

"Yes, of course we do. And yes, they always bugged us when they were little about having a grandma and grandpa. I wish they could have had that, but Granny was somewhat of a grandmother to them too."

"My babies growing up."

"There's hard things about being parents, but it's not always hard. There's a lot of enjoyment in being parents as well."

"I regret a lot of things, but the only one I dwell on anymore is that I... well, I kinda wish I would've spent more time with my pops before he died. Y'know, actually get a chance to be father and son."

"It's safe to say that Winry getting pregnant right after our honeymoon was a pretty big change. I wasn't expecting to have kids so early in the marriage, so it took some gettin' used to, but yeah, I guess the responsibilities that came after our wedding were the biggest change."

"We also built our own house down the road from Granny when Theo was a year old. It was kind of depressing at first, because I was so used to living with her, but it was nice to have our own space at the same time."

"I'd say what stayed the same was the dynamic in our relationship. Ed and I didn't grow apart like some couples do when they get married, even if I feel like decapitating him with a wrench at times."

"Raising kids can be a handful no matter what, but we still try to make time for each other as best we can. Occasionally we'll have Al and Mei or somebody else to watch the kids while we go to Central for a few days, or North City, or something like that. Maybe our hormones aren't all over the place like in the beginning, and we can let life distract us from each other, but all it takes is a moment to remind myself why I fell for him in the first place."

"I haven't got into much detail about that... I try to keep it as brief as possible with the kids. Sometimes I told them stories of our journey for the Philosopher's Stone when they were little, although it's kinda hard to explain the suit of armor whenever they find a picture."

"Sooner or later, I'm sure they'll find out the details of our past. It is part of Amestrian history, after all. Our oldest are starting to branch out, and with Theo being in the military, he's bound to hear more of the story than his father has told."

"Yeah, well... I guess I could kinda relate to how she felt. We both lost people close to us at a young age, and... it gave us both to fear, even now. I don't know what I'd do if she got sick like my mom did and I lost her. Or one of my kids, or... it's the most terrifying feeling in the world."

"I've learned to have faith in Ed over the years. He's a stubborn man, there's no doubt about that, and if he promises someone something, he'll stay true to that promise. Even if it means staying alive. That's just part of Edward Elric that I had to learn to love; his sense of adventure can get him into serious trouble, but he can't just stay still, that's just not the kind of guy he is. I admit, it was the hardest thing to accept, especially when I realized how much I loved him. Watching him walk away all those times reminded me of when my parents walked away."
