AWKWARD POTATO ON THE LOOSE! Lol so this is a bit different then my normal posting- I'm usually not in my uploads. I actually don't get around a camera much anymore. Since hitting the gym I've been trying to take regular photos of myself. Some days I look in the mirror and I smile at the beautiful woman looking back at me, other days I think goodness you look tired and like you should probably try to sleep today off. I suffer from depression and a lack of self love and identity, like many of us do. This year I've been attempting to grow a bit more, reaching out of my comfort zone and do things that make me uncomfortable (getting in a swimsuit and feeling good about it since getting a few crappy tattoos has been a thing if the past for me for the most part) Some days it's downright terrifying but when I do those things I usually end up feeling better and stronger for it. So this is my first year alone- no parents, no daughter, no partner, and I've been trying to find a system of supportive friends so it's been a bit lonely at times. I've had to find out who I am, what I love to do, and what Aspen does when she isn't trying to save the world or care for everything. What I've realized was that love for everyone else was a lack of love for myself and I've been working daily on self care and giving myself slack when I don't fill everyone else's plate as long as I'm contributing. So here is my post today- a little photo shoot in the gym lockers (that remind me some days of an exotic dancer's dressing room) of a girl who is learning to smile again.
