To any young creators or folks starting out on their creative journey, or to anyone struggling; I promise you I PROMISE YOU anything you create is infinitely more better than anything AI says it can do.

Learning is part of the process, being a little frustrated is part of the process, and each thing you make is wonderful because you made it exist! It's in the world because of you! It's uniquely you and no one else can replicate it exactly the way you do it.

I think of how we all exist on this earth for a limited amount of time, but the things we make will be left behind and it will touch the lives of people we'll never meet.

My partner's parents went to Italy one year and talked about how there were preserved sketches and unfinished sculptures done by Michelangelo. And I was losing my mind because yeah there's the amazing Sistine Chapel ceiling and the statue of David but his works in progress also exist! To see his process! To imagine that he also felt frustration? joy! to know he made so many WIPS before he eventually made the works hes widely known for.

I keep thinking did he have days when he thought those were crap? Which ones made him realize what he wanted to do in the final pieces. And to me the disconnect between myself and some super famous long gone artist I've never met drops for a bit and I yell THATS A PERSON WHO LIVED! THEY DID CREATIVE THINGS WE STILL DO TODAY

I think about the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave. did they feel happy creating these paintings? did their children watch? copy them? There's so many animals drawn over and over again, were they also doing their own art process that way? Was that a form of practice? Farting around and having fun? 👀

To know the need to express oneself through creative works has lasted for years and years and years is AHHHHHHHH 😭💕💕💕 It has endured! People's creativity has endured. And these days can feel so hopeless but the love to create can still persist despite it all.

Fascists will try and convince us none of it matters or that specific types of art are superior over others. "Let AI do it for you" but it can't do things like you can. It's just a stupid machine made by rich morons who have no souls. Its nature is to steal because their nature is to steal.

I just googled this and… yes, it’s absolutely real.

And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.

So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.

The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.

Thank God someone bothered to check.

not much to say here tbh—i like how this came out a lot consideirng how short of a time i spent on it! pose was ambitious & the head feels a bit small (not on the body, compared to the canvas. it is So Fucking Blurry but a bigger canvas makes my tablet vomit and die)

skrill, as said above, are one of the few dragons that hunt and kill for sport, going out of their way to chase down prey as large as timberjacks by frying their nervous systems with a well-timed shock of raw electricity. they typically do not eat this prey. its been theorised this is a form of "play" or "practise", but skrill aresifficult to study due to their small sample size.

they are mostly extinct with few specimens remaining in the wild; a recent skrill that was deiced in Berk runs rampant and seems to have brought a few others out of hising, but they are still an exceptionally rare specie. they are solo animals and only meet with members of their specie to breed

they hunt exclusively in the air, racing through storm clouds and using their metallic scales tk draw lightning to strike them, which they then redirect onto fleeing prey. they primarily hunt small flying dragons, electrifying them to slow or stop their flight, then yanking them from mid-air with their long sticky tongue

though they fly spectacularly and swiftly, they are poor on the ground and struggle to keep up with most species. if a skrill is needed to be neutralised, they must be grounded in some form

a skrill will not want to draw lightning outside of a chase; holding onto the electricity for too long will hurt itself so it must be expelled quickly. if there is no storm, or a skrill is otherwise unable to be charged, it is much less of a threat.

however, they are rarely seen outside storms. a skrill will have a temporary "territory" of a given storm and follow it until it dissipates, so it always has a lgihtning source.

if unable to use its electricity, it will resort to using it's tongue to pull prey close, then goring them with it's horns and crest. if unable to do that, it's clawed wings, espeocally the large one on its thumb, can gut even the toughest the vikings.

they are hard to train and harder to keep on your side, but not impossible; respect it's need to be alone and allow it hunt storms, and you can form a mutually beneficial relationship.

skrill seem to hate night furies; as two of the few "old world" dragons left alive, the reasons for this is unknown due to dwindled numbers. it's theorised that night furies would hunt skrill from above, being one of their few natural predators, but this cannot be tested.
