We try.
Does it show that I haven’t uploaded my saved images for a while?
Listen. I want to tell you guys about the Dollar Tree. If you ever need to rebuild your life fast, you want a dollar tree. Everything in a dollar tree costs one dollar. No exceptions. Nothing has a price tag. Everything is one dollar.
This is Dollar Tree not Dollar General.
Dollar Tree looks like this:
Their stuff is off-brand but decent quality.
Here are some things you can buy at the dollar tree for one dollar:
- any kind of makeup- foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, lip gloss, mascara, etc
- socks
- Sports bras (sometimes)
- combs, brushes, hairclips, scrunchies, hair ties, headbands
- clothes hangers, laundry bags, mothballs
- any kind of office supplies or school supplies. Staplers, pencils, posterboard, pencils, pens, etc.
- party supplies including paper plates and balloons
- all kinds of toiletries- shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, washcloths, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, nailclippers, etc. Decent sizes, too.
- ceramic/glass plates, bowls, cups
- reading glasses, sunglasses
- plastic buckets
- cleaning supplies, detergent, bleach, laundry syrup, fabric softener, dish soap, sponges. brooms
- electronics, headphones, night lights, phone chargers, batteries, screen cleaners, phone cases
Basically? If you ever get kicked out of your house or find yourself with a couple bucks and nothing else, get thee to a dollar tree.
All the dollar tree stores I have been in have some sort of medical aisle too. Its actually where I went first when my tooth broke for some off brand orajel (Works much faster and better than orajel imo, longer too if you put it on a cotton ball and keep it in the area) And sometimes even emergency temp tooth repair kits, which are at least $7 elsewhere. Dollar tree is a miracle.
Red flags to look for in psychiatrists
- if they do not like that you research your disorder/s and treatment/s - if they do not explain the reason/s behind certain treatment/medication that they are prescribing you - if they are reluctant/refuse to let you access your medical records - if their first response to symptoms is medication without any talk therapy - if they say they “don’t believe in therapy” - if they say they “don’t believe in medication” - if they insist on seeing your parent/legal guardian without you being present - if they tell you that there are no other treatment available if you complain about your current treatment/medication not working/having unmanageable side effects - if they diagnose you without explaining how they came to that diagnosis, what it entails, and which treatments you have at your disposal - if they fall asleep during a session (you’re laughing but it happened, several times, and i’m not boring) - if they assure you that you cannot have [insert disorder here] because you are too young/wealthy/poor/fat/skinny/smiling/old/whatever bs (the only valid reasons for not having a disorder is if you do not meet the minimum criteria for it, age/body/ethnicity/etc are not criteria) - if they tell you that you obviously do not want/are not ready to get help (that’s a super abusive technique, would only see this as a valid comment to make if you are pressured into seeing them by someone who has authority over you) - if they insist on you continuing to take a medication despite the side effects very negatively affecting you (for example: if you are recovering from an ED and you get the “gaining weight” side effect and that is very triggering to you) - if they are flippant about/disregard your feelings i’m probably forgetting a lot. feel free to add. EDIT: I made a blog to vent about bad mental health practitioners @shrinksfromhell. Check it out and submit your stories!

You can also apply most of these to standard physicians. Useful list, folks.
These people are supposed to be providing you with a service. If they’re doing a terrible job, it’s time to “fire” them and find someone new.
lmao reminder to any allistics (not autistic people) out there that autism isn’t some “huge serious disease”
It’s not a fucking disease. It’s a developmental disorder. Autism can’t be “cured” because it isn’t some disease. Behaviors can be unlearned but that’s honestly usually unhealthy and forced upon us.
And if your main argument against this blog is “YOU CANT HEADCANON A CHARACTER AS AUTISTIC BECAUSE AUTISM IS SERIOUS!!” then well I’m sorry to say but you have the ableist mindset that autism is some disease.
And while you’re over there trying to play “allistic savior of autistic people” you’re actually being very rude and ableist, and you’re restricting our voices.
Autism isn’t a disease. Autism isn’t something that needs to be “cured”. Stop acting as if autism is some “serious debilitating disease” that needs to be wiped out.
Autism is a developmental disorder. Not a disease.
look at this precious little pug omg
autism problem #1184
When you’re in class and all the noises and voices all get really loud and you can’t concentrate on anything but that anymore.

REBLOG IF IT’S OKAY FOR PEOPLE TO SLIP INTO YOUR MESSAGES TO TALK ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THAT THEY ARE FACING AND THAT YOU’RE WILLING TO HELP AND SUPPORT THEM AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
Love is a messy ball of feelings, indescribable feelings that merge into one.
Love is lesson, teaching you things you never thought you needed to know.
Love is painful and messy; it will consume you in the best and worse ways.
Love is something everyone wants to experience but a the same time don't.
reasons the internet is helpful to me as an autistic person:
I can communicate without worrying about body language and eye contact
talking about my interests is encouraged, because it’s easy to find communities who share them and appreciate my thoughts
infodumping is fine, because if someone gets bored, they don’t have to read what I’ve written
I don’t have to worry as much about saying the wrong thing, because I don’t have to answer immediately–I can take my time and think about what I want to say
I’ve found other autistic people who share my experiences, which has helped me feel far less alone
