1. A lot less people die from a knife wound every year than they do guns.

2. We got the knife because before COVID we would walk around the lake a lot. We saw a duck get caught in a fishing line and we struggled to get it as free as we could. So now we have a knife with us just in case.

The cheeseburger one is the only iffy one. McDonald's has some options that you have to order without cheese... Like a double cheeseburger for a while. Now I know they have a button for alot of it but don't have it on the menu boards. But even still I order a double hamburger and half the time my order taker still puts it in the computer as a cheeseburger with no cheese.... I can sorta give that guy a pass

okay i’ve been thinking about making a post like this for a long time but i’ve never had the balls to do it, but today i saw literally The Fucking Dumbest Post i’ve seen in………a long time and i physically cannot stand it any longer.

some of you guys are so obsessed with this competition of who can be the Wokest™ that you’re basically incapable of using any form of logic on your own. like i cannot begin to explain to you how unhealthy the whole mob mentality thing is.

racism is not a terminal disease. homophobia is not a terminal disease. and we are not all robots that can be separated into “good” and “bad”. and the way that some of you are absolutely incapable of acknowledging this fact has me extremely worried. if someone made a racist comment when they were young teenagers and they sincerely apologise and show that they’ve changed, this does not give you the right to attack them and call them a monster. even as a woc, i’m so sick of reading these “dear white people” posts that go on and on about how they use age as a cover-up for racism because frequently, that’s not the case. you absolutely cannot blame an adult that has grown and learnt from their mistakes, for the mindset they had a child, because you simply don’t fucking know how they were raised. children do not have enough logic to decide right from wrong on their own. the responsibility to teach those things to them is placed upon their guardians. so if their guardians are racist assholes, do you really fucking expect a twelve year old to have enough logic to combat against that? are you really that fucking blinded by all these political posts from people on tumblr dot com that have done absolutely no independent thinking? it’s literally getting to a point where it’s concerning how unwilling you all are to take your heads out of your ass for two seconds and think from another point of view.

Racism and homophobia are not terminal diseases - that would imply they have an end. They are chronic diseases.

The problem is not people who were stupid and realised it, apologised and make up for it. I dont think those are the people being targeted by “dear white people” posts.

The problem is people who, with maliciousness if forethought, continue to be racist.

The problem is also that all white people, even the not-racist ones, benefit from past and present discrimination. Systematic and institutional racism works to benefit all white people regardless of whether you are a bigot or not.

So, ones feelings might be hurt be hurt by the generalisation of “dear white people” but the good news is, in 400 years we can have a conversation about it.

I think she was specifically mentioning the posts that specifically target someone who made a shitty post or something when they were younger, and are now being targeted even tho they've made an effort to change. If the whole point of this movement is to change people's hearts and minds and how they think at the most basic level, demonizing people who've done exactly that is counterintuitive, it gives ammunition to detractors and it says that some people don't actually care if you change.

I understand your point, I'm just saying if you re read her post it sounds like she's talking about those specific posts targeting specific people
