welcome to my overcomplicated Hawkfrost au where he redeems himself in the Dark Forest and is then reincarnated as a RiverClan medicine cat apprentice after dying for a second time in the TLH battle

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO HEAR MORE ABOUT IT the basic idea is that after dying, Hawkfrost realizes that he wasted his life trying to serve his father and was never able to be his own person. In the Dark Forest, he realizes just how terrible Tigerstar is and begins to work with Ivypool to redeem himself and help the clans defeat the Dark Forest.

In the TLH battle, Hawkfrost betrays the Dark Forest and fights for the clans. He protects Mothwing from the rage of their father, and upon realizing that his son turned against him, Tigerstar kills Hawkfrost for a second time.

Feeling that he deserves a second chance at life (since his first one was genuinely wasted, not like whatever they did with Cinderpelt), StarClan/the powers that be allow him to be reborn back again into RiverClan as Frostkit (later Frostfeather), the son of Duskfur and Reedfeather, and littermate of Shadepelt and Foxnose.

He tries to be a warrior apprentice, but when he experiences battle, he has horrible flashbacks, and later nightmares, of what is his death and afterlife. He decides to become a medicine cat apprentice, training under Mothwing, who can tell there’s something weird about Frostpaw but not quite what.

There’s more after that, but it’s more general ideas like him coping with Foxnose’s early death, his relationship with Mothwing, and the fact that previous Dark Forest cats are trying to harass him :]
