Elsa is aro/ace
1. In the childhood flashback scene, Anna makes all the characters marry, while Elsa is visibly disgusted
2. Elsa is 24 and hasn't ever had so much as a crush
3. Elsa's insanely beautiful so it's ridiculous that no one ever asked her out in the 6 years between Frozen I and II
4. "Let It Go" still applies to her being queer, since she has to hide her lack of crushes
5. Hans knew she was ace and that's why he didn't go after her to get power in Frozen I
Felt in the mood to upset some people,
“how can you be intimate with someone if you’re aromantic??”
sharing secrets, trusting them with your life, telling them about that stupid thing you did when you were 14 and haven’t told anyone else since, being there for them any time day or night, talking til three in the morning, letting yourself cry around them, sharing grief, sharing joy, getting excited about the things they’re excited about just because you love to see them so happy about something
an aro positivity post 😭😭😭 that lists ways to be intimate with someone 😭😭😭 that doesn’t alienate the touch averse 😭😭😭 and people with no/low empathy 😭😭😭
For my ace and aro friends ❤️
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO MY ASEXUALS OUT THERE!
Hope y'all get all the love and respect you deserve!
ace ppl deserve better than the treatment this site decided to give them just cause tumblr decided they weren’t oppressed enough to be respected as people
Aro people deserve better than being treated like they don’t exist and for 70% of narratives abt ppl not experiencing romantic love to portray them as villainous or infantile
and whether or not you think they should be considered part of the lgbtq+ community, you don’t get the right to treat them without respect and harass them.
When I was younger my mom always told me to respect my boundaries and do things in my own pace regarding relationships, kissing and sex. She told me that I never had to do anything I wasn’t ready for.
What she didn’t tell me, and what I want to tell all of you, is that it is okay if you are never ready for those things. They are not milestones you have to reach in your life. Do things only if you want to. And if that’s never, it’s never.
Not a meme but I think it’s still pretty cool?
(Yes it’s so pretty!!)
Be yourself. Love who you want. Be free.

Here’s a positive reminder for asexual awareness week!

closeted does not mean ashamed
bringing this back because it’s pride month. please don’t feel bad about not being ‘out’ or not openly celebrating your sexuality or not attending the festivities. stay safe and comfortable! love you all. 🌈💘
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros who are constantly being told that this month isn’t for you!
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros who are constantly being told that your experiences aren’t ‘enough’ to make you queer! Who are constantly being told by strangers that your own lived experiences are actually just misogyny, or internalized homophobia, or literally anything other than what you say it is!
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros who are constantly being told that your identity isn’t a real thing, that it’s just a phase, that it’s only a ‘symptom’ of something else that can be ‘treated/cured’, or that you’re just looking for a way to ‘feel special’!
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros– whether or not you’re sex/romance repulsed! Whether or not you are currently in or have pursued those kinds of relationships in the past! Whether or not you still enjoy those things, but experience them differently than everyone else!
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros who’ve had people in your life try to ‘fix’ you or make you feel guilty for not feeling the same things they do! I’m sorry you had to endure that kind of treatment! You don’t deserve it, and you’re wonderful just the way you are!
Happy pride month to any aces and aros who feel that your ace/aro-ness is tied to other factors, such as trauma, or neurodivergence, or anything else! That doesn’t make your lived experiences with your sexuality any less valid, and I’m glad you’ve found the language and a community that gives you a sense of belonging, acceptance, and understanding!
Happy pride month to all the aces and aros who are also queer in other ways, and are constantly being told to leave your ace/aro-ness at the door when you enter queer spaces and dialogues!
Your struggles are real, your identities are valid, your voices matter, and I’m glad you’re here!
💚🖤⚪💜
(Exclusionists don’t interact! Make your own damn post, or better yet, have a long hard think about why you hate an entire demographic of people who have been told by Heteronormative Culture that they’re ‘broken’ and should feel guilty, ashamed, or embarrassed about who they are so much!)
this came to me at 1 am, no apologies
Ace-Friendly Therapists Masterpost Build!
We get a constant influx of therapist horror stories. Therapists who say asexuality is not valid, therapists who try to ‘change’ their patient’s asexuality, therapists who insult and degrade asexual clients, and so on.
But we also get stories about therapists who are understanding, supportive, and knowledgeable about asexuality. And I want to make an accessible collection of such therapists.
Finding a therapist/counselor that suits your individual needs is always a challenge. Our choices are very often limited due to budget and travel constraints. We choose therapists that fit all our interests and needs - for some people, that means a very specific field, and therefore less options to choose from.
Aces deserve therapists that treat us right. We don’t need to be satisfied with a therapist that doesn’t understand asexuality. Our money can go towards brighter horizons.
If you know a therapist that;
Understands asexuality as a sexual identity
Respects asexual clients
Has experience with asexuality and the asexual experience
Is flexible and accommodating towards a diverse community of asexuality
Please send us their name and location! All submissions will be collected in a Google doc, meant to clearly indicate who is safe for aces, and where they are available.
We will require the therapist’s full name, and their city/state/country of employment. Bonus information (that’s not required, but would be appreciated); their price range ($-$$$), and their specific fields of speciality (LGBT issues, trauma, teens, etc). This list will be worldwide.
Thank you for helping us build a safer world for us!
The current masterpost can be found here!
You either support all aces
Or you support none of us. And I do mean all- aces of every race, gender, ability, romantic orientation, religion, history, degree of sex favorability/repulsion and place on the a-spec spectrum. Aces who are neurodivergent, aces who are neurotypical. All aces.
Also, shout out to my fellow aces, I love you, you’re all awesome & valid.
Non-ace people: please reblog this if you support aces
So…
…I was thinking about the fact that somebody said they weren’t behind lesbian Carol Danvers because they saw the relationship between her and Maria as queerplatonic.
Both are actually pretty well supported by the text, esp. if you bear in mind that the movie was set in the 1990s and they were both mil types, so…late 90s and 00s kids, you don’t understand how much tighter the closet door was back then. If they were a couple and it came out, Mar-Vell might not have been able to save them from a dishonorable discharge.
Then my thoughts went to a different relationship in the movie.
The relationship between Danvers and Fury.
This was the obvious place to put the Obligatory Heterosexual Romance, and they didn’t. A decision I honestly applaud. The last thing this movie needed was an Obligatory Heterosexual Romance.
Some of the criticisms of the movie are that it “emasculated” Fury. Mostly because he does the dishes.
But it got me thinking about the character of Nicholas J. Fury as presented in the MCU. (We’re ignoring the comics here).
Up until this movie, we’ve seen Fury mostly as the ruthless, competent spymaster. He treats everyone as assets. He values people by what they bring to the table. He doesn’t care who you are or what planet you are from as long as you can do your job.
This movie was Fury’s origin as well as Captain Marvel’s. They explicitly show Carol as why he feels that way.
Except that there’s no indication he actually felt differently. All he needed was to expand his horizons. Perhaps part of it was being a black man in intelligence.
But at no time in the history of the MCU have we seen Fury look at a woman in a sexual manner. The dish washing scene was the intimate moment where the kiss would have happened in the Obligatory Heterosexual Romance. Instead, it was rendered explicitly platonic.
And hello, headcanon:
Fury isn’t straight.
It is absolutely supported by the text and never contradicted: Nicholas Joseph Fury is not attracted to women.
So I mentally ran another analysis based off of the hypothesis that Nicholas Joseph Fury is, thus, gay.
And that didn’t fit either. The MCU has never been afraid to queer code (and I suspect if it wasn’t for Chinese money and censors we’d see more overt queerness). Furthermore, I don’t see Samuel L. Jackson as being at all uncomfortable with a bit of homosexual tension.
Now, it makes a good amount of sense to set the “ruthless spymaster” archetype aside from romantic entanglements.
But combined with the fact that he doesn’t look at Carol’s breasts once, this has led the text to inadvertently support a different analysis:
Tl;dr: The MCU has had an aroace character from day one. It’s Nick Fury.
And you can pry this headcanon from my dying hands, as I’m pretty sure we are never going to see him romantically involved with anyone…
OP this is a good post
I will take a Nick Fury: Cat Lover as my aroace representation with zero hesitation
This time of year can be frustrating for people in the aro/ace community.
I will be here, whenever you need to talk.
