the guilt i feel for saying no to a last-minute request to cover a (very inconvenient) shift even though i technically could, but also have valid reasons for declining (in part because it is really inconvenient), yet knowing that in declining i am causing inconvenience to other people (my coworkers) because someone has to do it
#star stumbles#and then i blow up#/joking obviously#on the one hand i feel bad because i used to always say yes but recently i do say no most of the time#but it's like i know that people can't control calling out because they're sick and people are out on vacation#but i already mentally planned my schedule around the day i have and also#the shift would be the whole day at the location that's like one hour away#so it would really be a 10 hr shift and i would be leaving at like 7 am getting back past 6pm probably#when i literally am going on vacation with an 8 am flight the next day#plus i have work i need to do at the main location#could someone else do that work? yes if i left detailed instructions but it's the part of the work#i take care of#and control#but anyways. i always feel so guilty#this is all happening 9:30 pm the day before btw. because my one coworker called out for unspecified reasons#anywayssss. not looking for anything just need to put this on the internet
