people don’t enjoy shipping anymore. the point of shipping isn’t the catharsis of watching them kiss onscreen, it’s grabbing the characters and mashing their faces together like you’re five years old playing Barbie in your room again. it’s to take one moment of eye contact in canon and read that over and over and over again with twenty different writers’ interpretations of the characters internal monologues if they were in love. it’s to see the characters interact and cheer because you know that’s another moment to add to your list of canon compliant fic ideas. you’re stressing yourself out, this is supposed to be fun!
The more I think about it I think the snape fans are kinda right about the marauders fans going to hard on him but loving the other Slytherins like Barty is batshit crazy and killed people???? I am in no way excusing the stuff snape did but like he kinda is what everyone is making Barty (aside from the bad boy shit) I think it would be interesting to include his gang more in the marauders because he did have such a big role in everything. Like there's so many shorts and fics of regulus calling people mudbloods then everyone was like oh poor guy he was abused...chat snape was canonically abused wasn't he 🙏😭 I just think his character story is interesting (especially him and Lilys complicated history) just like how I think it would be interesting to go into literally all the characters
Okay I have a question for the marauders community. I'm a streamer and want to stream different games and one of the games I have is Hogwarts legacy. I had gotten this game (gifted by a friend) right before I even was in the fandom and I was in the golden trio era fandom and no one over there really talked about how horrible she was to the lgbtq community so I genuinely had no idea about her views until I got into the marauders fandom. I've stopped buying official stuff and supporting her to stop funding her outrageous donations to anti trans organizations. But would it be harmful to stream it? I don't think she gets contributions at all because I stream the game. I haven't played it much because I do feel bad that I was the reason someone bought it and gave her more money but it was also expensive for my friend and I feel bad for letting it go to waste too. It's the digital version so I can't even give it to a second hand store or anything. Would it be okay if I streamed it while making it very clear I don't support her and if you want the game to buy it second hand? I just have anxieties about streaming the game
