Main is @gentleman-aster So basically I'm gonna be following Dracula Daily 2024 with my friends and to avoid spamming the groupchat I'll be posting EVERYTHING dracula related here (while using the groupchat for select posts and disscusion) I'll use this blog to share my eventual art and fic too. And to discuss stuff about film and adaptations and academic journals and whatever (with 0 spoilers until dd2024 is over tho) (pfp is me infodumping dracula)

Reading BlueCatWriter's Dracula along with Dracula Daily

Ok so I've been meaning to read all of @bluecatwriter 's wonderful Dracula hc fics in order for a long time but I never have time to get with it so I decided to read it along with Dracula Daily this year.

If anyone else wants to do the same, here are the dates (or aproximante dates*) for each fic. (idk if someone has done this already but oh well) (BlueCat if you read this feel free to correct me if i got any date wrong)

*(Since there's 2 pre-canon fics and 2 days of may before dd, i'm setting those fics on those dates. Dates of undated fics are also adjusted to not overlap with date of other fics)

*(The order during the varna stay is a bit wacky since the book gets pretty vague for 2 weeks there but I tried to adjust it as well as possible.)

Between October 17th and October 27th? 31-Hungry. Between October 17th and October 27th? 32-Judge moneybag. Between October 15th and October 27th? 33-How i miss my phonograph. October 24th 34-Mem. get recipe for mina. Between October 15th and October 27th? 35-Farewell, sweet friends. October 30th 36-Starlight on the sereth. October 31st 37-Step into the light. Between October 15th? and November 6th (if reading in one sitting wait until november 6th)

Omg guys it's may already I'm so exited for this. This year I know I will be up do date with everything even tho I'm busy with my End of Degree Project because the dracula fixation i caught last year is a part of my life now I have been planning this so long guys.

Log Entry-2026-05-01: Audio transcript of my interview with Abraham about a box of mysterious letters he found. Contents of the letters can be found below as they are catalogued.

May 5, 1890-“Entertaining realtors is not my usual thing” (Based on Jonathan Harker’s May 5-14 diary entries)

May 7, 1890-“He has grown accustom to the walls in which I currently call home” (Follow up to the May 5th letter with a focus on the May 7th entry)

May 8, 1890- “I find myself wondering if there is an off putting quality to me that lives even in furtive thoughts of yours” (Based off Jonathan’s May 8th entry)

May 12th, 1890- “My fingers ran over the stone that they soon never will. “ (Based off Jonathan’s May 12th entry)

Log Entry-2026-05-14: I have begun further research on the solicitors Jonathan Harker and Peter Hawkins.

May 15, 1890- “It is easy gazing down from the opening of my window at the small humans below to see how serene here can truly be. .” (Based off Jonathan’s May 15th entry)

May 16, 1890- “Truly, I do not understand how you could care for a lick of their unruly company when you are here.” (Based on Jonathan’s May 16th entry)

Happy Vampire Girlies day, here is my absolute FAVORITE version of the girlies/draculas brides/whatever you call them. From a 2018 japanese adaptation with an all male cast which is one of the best dracula adaptations I have ever seen (I will make a post about it and be very annoying about it because it's GREAT)

What I mean to say is he dies lying between the two. [Spoiler for the final chapter| november 7: ] Even if there were no final note stating that the Harkers had a little baby boy they named after all the people hunting the count w/ them, a boy they called Quincey, it would be the only possible ending of this story.

Bram is a genius storyteller. I hope his ghost knows he also is a very visual one. Imaging this last frame in a movie that stayed true to the original. These two w/ a person they hold so dear between them. It would break your heart twice over only minutes after it had to handle the only death of „our little band of men“. Bram, you bastard (affectionate). What a satisfying ending.

Dracula Abridged Is Now Available!

Hello, all!

I'm happy to announce that as of today, both Dracula: The Abridged Text of 1901 and Dracula: The Abridged Character Cut are available for viewing and download in both standard and screen reader friendly formats.

The Character Cut is my own personal edit, reinserting some character-driven moments back into the abridged draft. A list of what was restored to this cut is compiled here.

These documents can be viewed at this link.

The Dracula Abridged blog will also post the abridged entries by date throughout the Dracula Daily period, which begins on May 3 and ends on November 7.
