Since everyone aside from Shan was a replacement for their tribes original champion would the events in Ep7 blackout be different?
Instead Shan is called out for being the only one who's the actual champion of her tribe or everyone starts arguing because someone called someone out for being a replacement.
But then they realise something is wrong because they were all replacements for their champions.
The events of Blackout do end up going way different in this AU, you're correct ! While the first part remains the same with a few tweaks, the main difference is, as you said, the part where they start arguing and their backstories getting revealed.
Kuku would end up airing Shan's business out [similar to Popo basically doing the same with Liu in that episode] by saying 'oh you must think you're all that just because you're the only one who ended up being the actual champion for your tribe' which would then confuse the rest of the Swap!DV and spark the question of, "what do you mean?" because each of them kinda unanimously agreed that all of them were replacements, they didn't know Shan was actually there bc she won the preliminaries.
Of course, paralleling canon, this would cause Shan to quietly agree that yes, she was the champion, but she didn't want to attend the games at all because how could she, when her brother died weeks prior to the championships? Such a reveal would shock the Swap!DV because as much as they knew few about what went on in the Bug Tribe [through gossip], they hadn't really thought that the victim would've been the brother of the tribal champion.
(Okay I don't really remember what the ask that didn't get sent, and I also sent like another few asks after the one u answered about the RM but now I'm worried those didn't send)
Do the swap DV7 still take the shields of the RM after they take off their masks or do they not?
[ I think those didn't send sadly, as I'm only getting your more recent asks now :((( ]
--
Yep ! I'm assuming this is referring to Eps 40-41, where they actually do manage to remove them of their masks, so yes, the Swap!DV do remove their shields once taking their masks out as they believe it would be safer for them to be in a controlled environment when they wake up [since the area they get transferred to is just a white jail cell so there's no existing threats to hurt them until CG breaks the place down when he becomes a mecha].
Liu and Kuga are the only ones who don't get their shields removed and help the Swap!DV. However, unlike in canon where the rest of the DV7 only help out in Ep 45, the Swap!RM come by way earlier to help out in fighting CG.
Since Spin takes Gai's place does he become 'Man X' or does that never happen?
No, he doesn't ! Like his canon backstory, Spin was offered the role of Man X but refused and got into the championships out of his own will and desire to win the materion back for the Mong Tribe's dignity through honorable means. This refusal though ended up with CG constantly targeting him as a result.
(I'm not sure if my other two asks got send to you, please let me know if it did or not so I can resend the asks)
Does Kuga and Makham fight like their canon version after Kuga's mask gets taken off?
How did the swap RM feel after they had their masks taken off and are lucid enough to remember and realise what had happened to them.
I only got one ask before this one so I'm curious on what your other question was :00 /nm
--
Yes, Kuga and Makhan do spar here like in the original, and Kuga is the one who initiates it because it's not a common occurrence to be saved by a literal living legend,,, I'd think Kuga would initiate it by saying he wants a 'proper battle' since obvs, the ones where he had his mask still on were pretty unfair [since Kuga wasn't in his right mind].
[Swap!RM's reactions without the mask under the cut]
So according to ur post on insta Shan kicks DV1 in the face which in turn reveals that he is Liu (idk how much of the mask she broke off)
How does she feel once she realises that she kicked her younger brother in the face hard enough to break the mask.
Also how does she react to learning that her brother is brainwashed, does she reveal about what happened to the others like Liu canonically does or?
SUPER LATE REPLY I APOLOGIZE !

So in this AU, Shan does end up kicking Liu hard enough to completely break half of the mask [which is pretty painful for Liu considering how I made the masks stay on in this AU...] and as for her reaction atm [end of Ep. 35] ?
It's like a quick sequence of shock > relief [that he's alive] > distress [at the situation] > and anger [at CG, whom she already doesn't like]
How she feels afterwards [Let's say at the start of Ep. 36] is shell-shocked. While Liu in canon withdraws from the group entirely to think, Shan would be with them while they're discussing but wouldn't be there , if that makes sense. The first person to ask if she's alright would be Alto, and she wouldn't respond until the third call, where, by then, everyone would be looking at her in concern.
Now, would she tell the others? I'd think so, to get it out of her chest. She'd be pretty close with them by then so it wouldn't hurt to open up. Though, unlike Liu, who walks away from them after explaining, Shan would stay there, head in her hands as she berates herself for not being there to save her, where the Swap!DV7 would then comfort her.
How do the Swap!DVs feel after realising that 6 of the DV7 are kids who are brainwashed with a gas that's technically a drug which probably would cause side effects.
And some of those kids disappearances weren't even taken seriously by their tribe.
Shan was very close to making fried chicken with CG's smug ass/j /lh
Okay but serious answer, they weren't happy. Like, at all.
Shan’s anger was more visceral than everybody else at first because her brother hadn’t just been kidnapped, he’d been tortured and reshaped into a weapon for CG. Every instinct in her pushed her to attack, to tear through everything and get him back. But she knew that at this point in the story, acting on impulse would only make things worse. So she forced the anger down, held onto it, and focused on what mattered, which was finding a way to break the brainwashing and bring him back.
Rema and Makhan, meanwhile, had already suspected something was wrong, so the confirmation hit very heavy for them. The anger came with it, of course, directed at CG and the Swap!RM, but for Rema, it cut a bit deeper since Miyo was her junior in Metronome and she failed to protect her from getting taken by CG.
Alto, Kuku, Mala, and Spin were more stunned that CG would go this far. They had always known he cared about power, but targeting children? Turning them into tools? Now that crossed a line they hadn’t expected him to cross. Even Mala was disgusted by it.
How did the Swap!DV'S realised that the DV7 are actually the missing champions, was it only after Shan kicked DV1/Liu or did they suspected it before hand because they were all kids.
Also I saw one of your posts about an interaction between Mala and Pala, Pala said he didn't want to do Charming Gold's dirty work.
So I'm assuming he's being forced to do this, if so does it have something to do with the Swap!RMs since they were kids maybe Charming Gold used that against him?
It's been a while since I've talked about this AU so I'll answer this as best as I can because I have thought about this ^^ !

On the Swap!DV and Swap!RM
Unlike the OG, they do notice quite early who the DV7 actually are ! Rema notices first, of course, but keeps it to herself as part of her investigation. But everyone else pieces things together during the first team battle - where they notice that the opponent team seems rather young in appearance + other personal details from specific members [Alto notices the stretching abilities of Lonky, Spin recognizes Gai from how his brothers describe him - as they are under his care, Makhan clocks the Pink Paws from Kuga, etc.] . It's only when Shan kicks Liu and the mask breaks that they confirm the DV7 were the missing children all along.
On Pala and his reluctance to serve CG
Firstly, yes! His reluctance to work for CG is directly related to the Swap!RM being his latest subjects. He already disliked CG for being forced into making a dangerous drug, it was made worse when CG brought him the RM to turn into DVs.
He hates that he had to subject these children to biochemical torture for CGs sick sense of control, and this pushes him into helping out the Swap!DV in this AU.
I just found your posts about RMA and I see swap au so I have to ask were any of the swap DV7's disappearances ever raised questions since they were all 15-16 year olds with the exception of Pala.
Hello, thank you for the question !
To answer this question, yes, it had been a very big deal in some of the tribes that the Swap!RM went missing. But ultimately, none of the disappearances were investigated thoroughly by each of the tribes.
[Read more for a more detailed explanation on how the tribes reacted to their disappearances]
