So, new AU idea about Neil Josten actually being Nathaniel Wesninski, growing up in a genuinely loving family with Nathan Wesninski — Polish to the core — and the wonderful British woman Mary Wesninski. They live in PALMETTO

There’s this one thing about Exy that kills me every time. Nathan brings six-year-old Nathaniel to a junior Exy team, and someone casually asks the kid if he likes the sport.

Nathaniel goes:

“Yes, I do, but my dad doesn’t. He says it's boring and stupid” in this little baby menace voice

Nathan is instantly devastated because now he’s convinced everyone thinks he’s some horrible father who hates Exy and refuses to support his son’s interests.

So he storms off like:

“Kurde, Jezus Maria, Mary, what am I supposed to do? Nathaniel is talking too much again. I don’t hate Exy. I love Exy. It’s my favorite sport now because my child loves it.” and he has this amazing Polish accent 😍

And somehow, the image of Nathan having a full existential crisis over a six-year-old accidentally ruining his reputation is genuinely hilarious to me.

I was thinking about adding another kid to Jean and Jeremy — a boy named Marlen. He’s two years younger than Aurelie.

Unlike Aurelie, who is more of a “good girl,” Marlen would be manipulative, sly, and funny. He has that sharp, mean edge to him — very similar to Jean — but expresses it in a more playful, almost teasing way.

The contrast between them would be really strong: Aurelie is controlled and well-behaved, while Marlen is more chaotic and intentionally provocative.

I've just understood that I didn't tell you the funniest bit in Nothing Soft About This

I've just realized that you read Joanne’s name as you are used in classic English pronunciation, but I have a Slavic background, so I use another pronunciation while voicing it.

This is so stupid because you are the right ones she was named after Salem witch trials, but in my language, her second name sounds a bit different.

I will try to explain how it sounds in writing.

So, "Salem" in English is often pronounced like "SAY-lum," super sharp vowels. But "Salem" in a Slavic context is more like "SAH-lyem," with a softer "a" sound and a more fluid ending. And that bit is funny as heck.
