I wonder if people are still alive around here. Found a way to get back into this
Possibly moving on?
I’m highly debating starting fresh on every thing. I love Legend of Korra so much but I’ve been spending a lot of time in my own fictional world lately and with those characters.
Maybe that’s why I’ve had no muse for Baatar or Karras: A lot of those traits they have are shared with Caius and Kerwyn. Not only that, but map making and power making and mark laws for a world is a lot of fun
I have a lot written so far and I figured I’d query here about just making a writing blog while releasing it on Fiction Press or something. Here’s some info – there’s many female characters, some good, some not so, and some bad, as this is based in a society that is more matriarchal in nature due to their pantheon including two Goddesses but it’s really a story about how one can’t always take things at face value and how forgiving those who wronged you is not always the path to healing…
I’ll probably change this description half a million times but here you go:
In the beginning there were three. Three realms, three creations, three gods: Orah, Arcadia and Bran. From them came everything, to the ground we stood on, to Orah’s children of light, to even us mere mortals. They say Bran created his monsters, the Ashe, out of jealousy of the beauty of his sisters’ creations, and he sent his beasts to attack everything they could. With their older sister wounded, Arcadia put herself in harms way to protect us, and every mortal willing to follow a god into battle – many of them now young mothers themselves who understood Arcadia’s pain – were blessed by the goddess herself and became Arcana, the only ones capable of effectively fighting the Ashe and making long term contracts with the Children of Light…
In Lenorae, it is mandatory that all youth who are Arcana from ages 13 to 17 are trained at the Orcinus military academy, and then serve a four year term with Orion, the military of the Main land of Lenorae, or as her mother Kerwyn would say: the home of the Vultures. Rayner could be been exempt from service. Being subjugated by Lenorae, her people are second class citizens, but she is the heir to the title. As future leader of the Mali clan, not serving in Orion was one place where the word of the Rigelibe, the Matriarch of the clan couldn’t be overruled by the Lenorae’s head of state and military. But Rayner has always been hot blooded and wants to fight: how else will the Lenora know that Mali like her should be equals? How does keeping herself separate from them lead to the masses finding out the atrocities left out of their history books? Besides, Ray has been growing cold feet lately: the position of leadership, currently held by her mother seems rife with moral decisions, and Rayner is now old enough to recognize that her mother doesn’t always have the most sound morals. As Kerwyn makes moves to complete four generations worth of effort to make the Mali a free people again, and the gods aim for their own goals, Rayner questions whether or not the woman she once called her hero is now as dangerous as the country she was told to hate.

I swear to God I’m just going to keep reblogging until I finally get a response
I feel so terrible for being quiet over here, but I also have no. Idea. Who. Is. Still. Rping anymore in this fandom? So many people have left. Speaking on Rps, I’m really excited about the Fantasy AGE system coming out in a general format. I so desperately want to run an Avatar Series Campaign and a Wren (My own world for my original series) campaign. Mmmm. Whose interested? I may find a way to do it via skype. I don’t know...

Lmao she too real but it does open your eyes about the black community. It seems like we’re always tearing each other down when we need the most uplifting
Absolutely, most west indians do not like that gender switch at all, im glad my family was so understanding
This is VERY important. Watch the whole thing
This is EXTREMELY Important and I'm going to post it on both blogs even though I've been rather quiet. "Charity starts at home." The WI community is full of people who'd rather lose their child than accept difference because it's seen as shameful, but yet when white people do it, it's okay. I cannot begin to tell you how many of my elders in the community want to believe that LGBT identities is just a "white thing" and completely disregard that their ignorance forces so many to be closeted if we want to be in the West Indian community for the sake of being in touch with our roots. We are literally being asked to choose between our gender identity and or sexuality and our ethnicity and roots, and so many elders are too fucking stubborn to see how fucked up it is.
this is worse than hearing my parents swear for the first time
Me when it comes to how I feel about my life and a particular parent right now
Fine by me.
///would it be bad to suggest this be reblogged, but with Suyin and Kuvira. XD

//So I said I'd be back before now. I guess I lied. I'm back now ish, but I have an injury that makes it hard to type sometimes. Feel free to hit me up for a starter if you don't mind me being a wee bit slow.
I hate spring. There’s too much shit to deal with at its beginning...
So there’s Easter, where my family loves to contact me in a religious sense which ordinarily is tolerable but has been decidedly less regarding a particular family member for a while now. Then my birthday, where everyone contacts me AGAIN. A week after is the anniversary of a friend’s death and I always feel conflicted, like I complain too much and I should just keep my head down and be thankful even though things have been really rough, (and what’s even worse, in previous years when fighting off a bad depression spell, I’d feel guilty for having a death wish this time of year). Then I see family shortly after because how dare my birthday AND Easter pass without having dinner with me? Now my niece is having her birthday held at the home of the person who is most intolerant towards me being me and I am positively thrilled at the panic attack I am having over it. What can I wear that will be comfortable for me but not so out there to my relatives? Do I still bind? It’s too warm to get away with layering, but binding is obvious. How long do I stay without seeming like I’m snubbing them? All this family contact has me fucking edgy
The signs as writers
Aries: Spends weeks coming up with complex characters, their motivations, histories, likes, and dislikes, but has no idea what world to put them in or what plot to use
Taurus: Works on one project for hours every day for about a week then spends two months with a horrible case of writer's block
Gemini: Constantly talks about their characters like they're real-life people
Cancer: Has a propensity for breaking the fourth wall at every opportunity
Leo: Uses stand-in names for every character and place until they think of something better; half of them stick and are never changed
Virgo: Writes drunk, edits sober
Libra: Writes drunk, edits drunk
Scorpio: Intense worldbuilding with extensive culture notes and giant maps that could take up their entire wallspace
Sagittarius: Puts dragons in every single story no matter what
Capricorn: Metaphors. Metaphors everywhere.
Aquarius: Writes a lot of fanfiction with AUs so different from the source material that they could probably be original pieces
Pisces: Creates characters based on real-life enemies, kills them off in creative ways
...accurate
// I find it slightly disturbing that I can tell, just based on the sound of something, when a sound is “most likely indicative that somebody has been hurt”. Then to boot, how I have essentially a first aid kit in my room that always seems very fresh in supplies and nobody really thinks it’s odd that I always have a lot of stuff that seem newly bought. I wonder if they guess at all...
I saw something about Sutar week???? So I organized the last couple of those engagement sketches I mentioned a while back.
Wanted to do something that was short and cute and still showed off Suyin being the most overwhelming person ever and Baatar being a turbonerd. Oh yeah and Suyin would still be estranged from Toph too at this point.
Also heh, I love the idea of something in direct contrast with Lin dating Tenzin for years and that relationship crashing and burning. Suyin rushes into marriage, successful long relationship.
Oh my god I am yes. can’t even.
this is so cute <3
I like this idea, but maybe not after two dates :P I think Suyin and Baatar's early relationship stages were rather short though, and they either had kids early into it (Su did grow up with Toph, whom from what we know never married, so she'd probably be more open to the idea especially if she knew Baatar was staying in the picture), or they married early on. Anyways, I really did like this.
