Love Me; Lu&Min

“You did it... for me?” His eyes widened when he heard those words. No one had ever done something for him. For a moment he was speechless, unable to express how touched he was. He continued to smile at the boy which was rare since he hardly smiled at all. “Yes.. Minseok you made me happy..” he spoke softly. Those words he never thought he would ever be able to say in his life. Yes, when he was with this boy he felt happy, he felt cared about and he loved it.

“Thank you Min... for doing so much for me..” He focused his gaze towards the ground and started to pull out some blades of grass. “Why am I out here?” his voice was growing more quiet as he paused a moment to think about what to say next.

“It was too crowded.. I needed space..” He pulled his knees up to his chest but continued to pull out grass. Luhan continued to be vague about why he really wanted to be outside. Yes, being in his room for long periods of time did make him feel trapped however was that really why he wanted to go outside? His thoughts began to scramble and his body froze. “They were too loud..”

Minseok’s smile widened behind his scarred hand as his gaze fell upon the crouched figure in the institute’s garden. The sun peeking through the clouds caused the other’s hair to glow and it became clear that it was who he thought.

Luhan… Gege…

Earlier that day he dug through his mountain of books as well as the collection in the library to find a few Chinese dictionaries and language books in order to impress his most recent friend. Surprisingly, although it hasn’t been long, he already formed a special connection with Luhan and he found himself becoming more and more attached (though not to the point of touch- yet). So there he was, crawling his way over excitedly to greet the other again, now with a few new and hopefully comforting words in his already limited vocabulary. He stumbled out into the garden on all fours.

“L-l-lu!.. L-l-lu.. g-g-ge..”

Once on the grass his weak arms gave out a bit and his face ended up pushed to the ground. He let out a soft whining sound before sitting up and blushing brightly, his hands twisting into the bottom of his shirt. He kept his position two or three feet away. “S-s-s.. S-sorry..”

Being indoors was starting to make Luhan feel suffocated and it was giving him a headache. Cold sweat dripped down his face as he tried his best to escape being locked away indoors. He pressed the palm of his hand against his forehead as he could hear them speaking louder and louder. Finally he made it outdoors to the garden and let out a sigh of relief. “So.. what did you want me to do?” he muttered to himself as he crouched down and buried his hand beneath the soil.

“M-Minseok?”

The voice caught him off guard and the voices left his head instantly. He shook his head slightly and watched the other in front of him. He couldn’t help but give a slight smile when Minseok approached him even though on the inside he was filled with joy. The other male was his first friend since he was first admitted to this facility and Luhan grew quite attached to him.

“You don’t have to apologize-- wait earlier...” he blinked and tilted his head to the side. “did you just speak chinese?” It had been a long time since Luhan heard chinese, it reminded him of home. A wave of nostalgia hit him and he moved closer to Minseok. “Have you been learning chinese?” Another smile spread itself across Luhan’s face. Did the other boy learn chinese just for him?
