Vague mermaid mask spoilers

Funny thing about scrolling through the mermaid mask tag on Tumblr is that half the posts have game breaking spoilers in em hidden by "read more" dividers. (Just like this one NDNDNSNS)

So you'll end up finding three posts back to back that look nearly exactly the same on the surface but underneath the cut, the first is a meme of Godrik looking like a drowned rat, the second is the most jaw dropping awe inspiring angst filled beautiful piece of fanart you've ever seen, and then the last one is gay.

Symmetry didn't do anything wrong. Mortuga didn't die because of her.

And Gripp wants her to know it.

He wants everyone, especially her, to move on and be at peace.

Coming from him, of all people, the self appointed anguished coward... He may have had deep resentment towards Mortuga, but he didn't want anyone else to shoulder the blame that, ultimately, was all on him.

And, who knows, maybe he didn't want them to end up like him...

I was messing with my own sort of design for them. I really liked the idea of making them look more mermaid-esc and using the elements from the mask. Do I think the mask is good for them to have? Definitely not! But it does make for fun design elements sooo

This was sparked because I saw a post talking about Gripp's color palette being the trans flag colors and under it two people left comments one reading Gripp as a trans woman and one reading them as a trans man. I have not been able to get either interpretation out of my head since. I am obsessed with the symbolism and narrative in both. Which after thinking about it all day, obviously lead my brain to think about the "saddest man alive and most beautiful woman ever" post. So I had to draw it. Trans masc Gripp art coming soon...

The question of "how could someone else have typed this on your typewriter?" becomes much funnier if you've already inspected the typewriter and discovered that all of the keys have the paint worn down/off and have been slapped back on at random. How COULD anyone else have used it? [Minor spoiler] must have been a mean touch-typer or willing to figure it out through trial and error and then remember it. There should be far more typos in that thing.

I do a lot of art for scenes I haven’t written yet, but I’m thinking about while I’m about to write them— usually this means the art is inaccurate to the final scene, which is fine, the vibes are the same.

But after I wrote this scene proper— now I am rather amused that the pose was in fact quite different than what I was expecting when I drew the art.
